  “Our experience at the Red Lion was spoilt even before we had ordered. I went to order our food and drink at the bar, whilst my husband asked a member of the staff, if we could shut a door as the smell from the local factory/abbotoir was coming in. This staff member obliged. Meanwhile at the bar, the staff member behind the bar says to the customer in front of me, Oh what's he moaning about. I spoke up, and said thats my husband, and actually he is not moaning he is asking to shut the door, as the smell is coming in from the factory. It's not a factory it's an abbotoir the bar staff member says. No apology for saying what she said in front of me to another customer. It was so Rude of her. And made me feel embarrassed/ annoyed and upset!! We have been 'locals' to this pub/restaurant for many years and have to say this was the worst beginning to a meal out we have ever experienced. Disappointed with main, the Moroccan Chicken. The chicken was watery which made the spices bland Hunters Chicken was better We left without ordering dessert, as both of us felt very uncomfortable bring in there on this occasion Hopefully, we will receive a better welcome next time we visit”

  “Just had a great cooked breakfast in the Red lion Shrewsbury. Had the big breakfast which was spot on. Great service and atmosphere nice quiet Sunday morning.”

  “I left feeling completely full and satisfied with everything I ordered! Every dish was absolutely delicious, and I enjoyed every bite. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The prices were very reasonable too. I'll definitely be coming back again! 🥰”

  “Fantastic food, fresh ingredients and great quality. The service was top notch, pub pretty busy but still managed to snatch a non reserved table. Waiting was okay, especially that we arrived just before 6pm. We had the Tandoori Chicken and the Sirloin Steak & Hunters Deluxe and was excellent both of them! Lovely and cosy atmosphere, definitely worth it and we will be back next time we passing by! Thank you.”

  “My partner and I often come to the red lion as we are local, it is always a hit with us both even just for a pint on a nice day or a full of evening meal! The staff are lovely and always very willing to help with anything! It's a busy place and the staff are always running around, very efficient and always with a smile! The food is always as you expect very well done and served quickly, also reasonably priced, im vegetarian and always find multiple options when I come! Great local to have!”

  “We visited for breakfast on a Saturday morning and had such a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and relaxed, with a great atmosphere to start the weekend. A special mention has to go to Joe, who looked after us brilliantly. My daughter has a dairy allergy, and he went above and beyond to make sure she was safe and had plenty of options. It’s always such a relief to feel confident eating out, and his care and attention made a huge difference to us. The food was delicious, well-presented, and arrived quickly despite it being a busy morning. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the menu and the service. We’ll definitely be back again—thank you for such a fantastic 5-star experience!”

  “Had an amazing meal, had a small issue with a steak from my mixed grill that was overcooked but was changed with no issue, even a complimentary drink so that was very lovely thankyou! Our server was absolutely outstanding, I didn't catch her name unfortunately but she was a younger girl with long brown hair and was extremely polite, what an assist to your team! My girlfriend gave her a tip but unfortunately I believe the tips are shared between staff which is a shame as only herself and the chef should be sharing that tip. All in all, the best visit ive had to the red lion in many many years! Great job! Will be back soon!”

  “We came to the Red Lion whilst on holiday and were so happy with the food and service! We had the festive Yuletide burger and sweet chilli halloumi, plus the fudge chocolate cake and chocolate brownie. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We can’t fault it at all. The staff were lovely and the food arrived very quickly. Thank you so much!”
