Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the fish and chips, praising a generous piece of fish in crispy batter with freshly cooked chips, and using "tasty" and "fresh" repeatedly. Close behind are the sides. Pies are described as not soggy, mushy peas as just right, and one diner enjoyed sausage and peas, while another had a mini fish, chips and peas in a tray. Several call the portions good and the value reasonable, and service is described as friendly and efficient, even on a busy match day. The picture is not uniform. One reviewer found the fish too oily and the chips smelling of fish oil, as if the oil had not been changed, and another called two women working the lunchtime shift rude and said the chips were pale. The cash-only rule also comes up repeatedly. One reviewer says it limits their visits because they rarely carry cash, and others warn to bring some. A football regular notes the salt is heaped on with reckless abandon.

“2 woman staff working around lunch time today are rude and the chips they make are paler than your grandads tan lines after 2 weeks in Spain no thanks 🥲”

“Excellent customer service however the food is absolutely awful, it’s tested like oil wasn’t changed for a while, the fish was too oily and the chips smelled like it was cooked in fish oil, I couldn’t eat it.”

“Lovely fish and chips not busy straight away banging”

“Had Mini Fish, Chips and Peas in a tray from here for dinner on Good Friday. Great value and very tasty. Only accept cash payment so make sure you have some on you to avoid disappointment”

“Decent fish and chips always really tasty and fresh, decent prices and reasonably good portions, probably one of the most consistently good fish shops in the area and definalty worth a visit if you are in the area shopping. There's a couple of seats inside but better to just takeaway, is a shame they don't have a bigger sit in restaurant and only accepting cash means it's not always an option as I rarely carry cash.”
