About Akash Restaurant
Akash Restaurant is an Indian restaurant on Wales Rd in Sheffield, open evenings daily. Diners can bring their own alcohol, with soft drinks available to buy at the restaurant, and a nearby co-op sells alcohol beforehand for those who want it with the meal. The starter list includes a vegetarian option for two and a Mixed Grill for two, alongside Chicken Wings on the menu. Booking ahead is recommended, since dining in can get busy. The entrance is step-free and wheelchair accessible, suiting visitors with mobility needs. Takeaway and delivery are both available for those who prefer to eat off site. Leftovers can be packed up to take home on request.

Customer Review Summary
Curry dishes draw the most consistent praise, with reviewers repeatedly calling the food tasty, hot and reasonably priced, and several singling out the vegetarian starter for two, the mixed grill for two, and dishes like lamb bhuna and prawn dopiaza as standouts. Many also flag the bring-your-own-alcohol setup as good value, with soft drinks available and a nearby shop for those wanting a drink, and the staff are frequently described as friendly and accommodating, even packing up leftovers or sorting a bottle for a baby. Service is generally called good, though one reviewer waited over two hours for delivery and found the sauce bland and watery. A recurring complaint centers on inconsistent curry quality: one reviewer's Rogan Josh was flavourless and heavy on peppers, and another described a tandoori order as inedible, deep-fried rather than grilled, with oily bhajis and the wrong rice sent. Several reviewers note it can get busy and suggest booking ahead for dining in.

“Food took over 2 hours to arrive, sauce bland and watery, 'pickle tray' was a small tub of mango, most went in the bin, waste of £20.”

“An ideal place for a family meal, date night or meal out with friends. Bring your own alcohol but soft drinks are available for purchase.”

“One of my favourite restaurants. Food is always tasty and hot, staff are great and prices are spot on. I like the fact it is being your own alcohol and you can always have soft drinks from the restaurant if you're not drinking. The vegetarian starter for two is awesome for price and really filling. If you can't eat all your meal ask the staff to pack up for you to take home they are very accommodating and happy to help. Recommend booking if dining in as can get busy on certain days but I have never had an issue.”

“Ordered Rogan Josh online. Couldn't tell it was a curry. Hardly any flavour or sauce, just rammed with peppers. Basically chicken in a poor gravey. Very disappointed.”
- Fatma Celik
“Had curry here with my friends today — it was absolutely delicious! Really enjoyed the flavors and the friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!”
