Customer Review Summary
Cakes are what most reviewers single out, from bespoke orders like a caramel apple crumble cake (one diner's relative ate two slices in a row) to pastries described as delicious and fresh. Close behind are the brunch dishes: baklava pancakes, a butter bean shakshuka, a salmon brunch bowl and a Bombay bowl whose flavours one diner called unreal. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, even when the cafe is very busy on a Sunday, and reviewers mention attention to allergies and staff who know which food is halal. Criticism is less common but specific. One diner found the eggs too soft and mushy, the English breakfast just eggs on toast, the pancakes like cinnamon buns and the food lacking seasoning and warmth, and reported dirty glasses and forks on a busy Sunday. Another rated the coffee unremarkable after ordering a fredo cappuccino and receiving an iced latte, which staff told them was the same thing.

“Very nice location, the pastries and cakes are amazing. The coffee isnt that great, we ordered fredo cappucino and received iced latte, we have been told they are the same, but a cappucino will never be the same as a latte.”

“I opted for the Bombay bowl, and the flavours were unreal. The cafe was very busy, but everyone was still smiley and friendly. Very impressed with the attention to detail and presentation too, and the cakes looked delicious. Can't wait to come back for the Halloween bakes!”

“Had the most delicious breakfast at this cozy cafe. Lovely welcoming staff, cakes to die for , massive choice . They also have really delicious specials , I chose the butter bean shakshuka which was so tasty. My friend had the salmon brunch bowl , he said it was one of the tastiest breakfasts he had ever had. Will certainly make it our local .”

“Wonderful place, delecious food, to many choices. The best thing that the staffs know about %HALAL% food and they gonna tell U that. There is a cosy cottage to stay outside. I'll definitely visit it again I am sure of that.”

“We have visited Aesthete many times over the years, including when they were situated in the former cafe Alyssum and the food/coffee has always been exceptional. I especially love the baklava pancakes! We have also had bespoke cakes made, which are fantastic, and so fresh! The latest was a caramel apple crumble cake, and one of my family members enjoyed it so much, he consumed not one, but two slices in a row!”
