Quick info
About Beighton Wok
Beighton Wok is a Chinese takeaway at 12 Oak Rd in Sheffield, serving Chinese cooking for collection rather than a sit-down meal. Portions are large, and the set meals combine with extra dishes to cover a table of four, so one order can feed a whole group without much planning. Ordering a set meal as the base and adding dishes on top is how most of that spread comes together.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers return for the large portions and the flavour, with the salt and pepper chicken and chow mein with bean sprouts singled out as the favourites, one reviewer calling the chicken savoury, crispy and a little spicy and the chow mein well cooked, dry but not oily. Close behind are the Combination Starter, especially the ribs, and a set meal with black bean beef that fed four people with a balanced mix of veg, meat and sauce. Several describe food that arrives hot, never greasy, and ready quickly after ordering, and a few came after their previous local takeaway closed and plan to order again. A smaller group report a sharply different experience: delivered orders with missing items and cold food, and a phone complaint that was brushed off after payment was taken. One reviewer found the chicken soggy, the beef rubbery and the gravy tasting like Bisto, and says it has declined since last year. One order that swapped mixed prawn balls in was met with no complaint.

“Ordered here tonight after galaxy at mosborough closing down. This was by far the best Chinese. Sent prawn balls instead of mixed but didn’t mind! Would 100% go again.”

“DO NOT USE. Waited nearly 2 hours for food. When it arrived items were missing and the food was cold. Called to tell them and they were not interested at all as they had olalready taken our £85 for absolute rubbish”

“First time ordering tonight as our local place was closed. Fantastic food. We’ll be ordering from here in future.”

“I gave it 1 star and that was being generous if I could give it 0 then i would have The food was too greasy The chicken was soggy The beef was rubbery The staff was unhelpful and that guy who I could go talk to usually is now gone 😭 The wait times were above what they said it would be and were longer than usual I would not recommend as there are many better places to go apart from this Chinese takeaway. This place has changed for the worse since last year. Until this place gets better I would recommend going elsewhere as beighton wok is not what it used to be 😭😭😭😭 Just a tip don't buy gravy sauce from Brighton wok I've seen it's just bisto so save your money and buy bisto for yourself instead”
