Customer Review Summary

Breakfast and brunch draw most reviewers, and the steak and eggs, eggs benedict and full English earn the most praise, with one reviewer calling the eggs benedict up there with the best they have had. Close behind are the seafood linguine, fish chowder, buttermilk chicken sandwich and creme brulee, plus cheese scones caught fresh from the oven. Reviewers describe the staff as friendly and the food as reasonably priced, and several say the place gets extremely busy, with one advising booking and another warning that walk-ins may be turned away. Waits are the recurring caveat. One diner found the food slow to arrive even with empty tables, and another family reports a long delay for a high chair, a wrong order, missing ingredients, cold food and messy toilets without soap. Another reviewer notes birds knocking water from the drains onto the outdoor tables. Two reviewers mention a mix-up with an order, and one was given a free tea each as a goodwill gesture.

“Great little place for brunch, gets extremely busy. Steak and eggs were stunning and the full English was quality all good ingredients. Caught the cheese scones coming fresh out of the oven, well worth grabbing one to try. Would definitely go again”

“Visited for brunch - the food was gorgeous and reasonably priced! We were sat outside as it’s not dog friendly inside, but there needs to be a cover as the birds were knocking the water from the drains everywhere which wasn’t ideal.”

“UPDATE: Breakfast - the menu has plenty of choices from traditional to sweet. Cost was very reasonable 10-15£ per person, and the food was perfect. Marie is amazing (thank you) and again LeeAnn was running a tight ship. All the staff are amazing! Original Post: A wonderful find in Seaham. First Kate(?) and the other two beautiful ladies (LeeAnn and the barrister) were amazing, kind and very helpful. The food is amazing, so much to explore! Had the steak and fries, cooked perfectly, chips were crisp and hot :)) for desert creme brulee, which had that perfect crisp top. The restaurant is furnished with beautiful wooden tables (I'd love to buy one), beautiful lovely leather chairs (warm and welcoming). They have a table by the window and a two seat bar table in the opposite window. Highly recommend and will return to try other menu items!”

“A lovely lunch with family. Service was excellent, it was very busy, but the staff still managed to be attentive and everyone had a lovely, friendly manner. Food is excellent, we had the fish chowder, philly cheese sandwhich and a buttermilk chicken sandwhich. Really nice hot coffee, iced tea was good too. Good portions, fresh salad and well presented. Highly recommend if you are in Seaham ❤️”

“It is always a pleasant and delicious visit to this place. Definitely one of our fave breakfast places. Plenty of choice, food is always top notch and very tasty. Highly recommend, best to book, or you can chance a walk in but be prepared to be disappointed of they have to turn you away. It's an incredibly popular spot.”
