Customer Review Summary
Pies draw the most praise here, with one reviewer calling the Lamb and Mint pie divine and another calling the pies unbelievable. Close behind are generous portions: a meat feast pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks and a warm homemade scotch egg left one couple struggling to finish, and a Sunday lunch plate defeated another diner. Staff are repeatedly called friendly. The one complaint is slow service, alongside good beer.

“£30 for meat feast pizza (with proper, unprocessed meat) chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, hunters chicken loaded fries and a fresh warm home made scotch egg..ordered it for me and the wife and struggled to finish it all (and I can eat)..£30 is absolutely bang on the money for the portion and quality, too many chain pubs in Scunthorpe so it's really refreshing to have somewhere with genuinely good quality food at a reasonable price!..100% be back again as the pies look incredible, spoke to the head chef, real nice guy who seems passionate about what he's doing, keep it up mate!”

“Good beer, but let down by slow service.”

“Went in for a Sunday Lunch after having popped in a few times in the past for a drink, but never thought to try their food. I'm a sucker for Lamb & Mint pie (so I've tried many) and this one was absolutely divine. Sadly, though, I couldn't finish the whole plate since the portion was so generous. I'm also not a massive veg person, but all the trimmings were delicious too and did get finished. For the sake of £16 in today's economy, it felt worth the money!”

“Only stumbled across this place as the museum opposite which we were visiting had closed their cafe! Choice of food was great and didn't disappoint either. Couldn't get over how friendly staff and customers alike were. Need to go back when not driving to sample the ales. Only drawback being we live in North Devon. 😊”
