About Dilruba (Indian Punjabi Restaurant)
Dilruba is a family restaurant on Railway Terrace in Rugby serving Punjabi food, with a menu that moves from familiar curries to more specific regional plates. The kitchen turns out onion bhaji and chilli chicken as starters, with chicken tikka masala and chicken curry among the mainstays, alongside lamb curry for those eating in or collecting. Sides include mushroom rice and Peshawar naan, and lamb chops appear as a grill option. Orders are taken at the counter, and the room is set up for groups. It functions as a sit-down family restaurant and also handles takeaway for customers who prefer to eat at home.

Customer Review Summary
Diners single out the food as the main draw, with several naming specific dishes such as the onion bhaji, lamb chops, mushroom rice, chicken tikka masala, and a lamb curry takeaway offer priced at £10. Many describe the staff as welcoming and kind, and a few note being looked after on a late visit. One reviewer reports that a chicken curry and a chilli chicken dish were particularly satisfying. A small number of visits went the other way, however: two reviewers describe the food as bland and tasteless, with one saying a spicy request was ignored, and another calls their meal cold, dry, and overcooked. Several mention returning or recommending the place.

“It is not the most luxurious restaurant but the food and the service was excellent. I had probably the best onion bhaji ever and the lamb chops were also a fine starter. Mushroom rice was top notch. The peshawar naan could have benefitted from some fruit. I had chicken tikka masala full of flavour and not bright red. My mate had a chicken curry which also hit the spot. Will be returning”

“Food is always banging 10/10 chilli chicken 🔥”

“The worst mean I’ve ever had in my life. Cold, dry, overcooked leftovers”
