  “Booked a table for my birthday with friends lovely quaint cosy pub. Lovely tasty food great service nothing too much trouble. Complementary full size bottle of Prosecco added bonus if it’s your birthday., fabulous thankyou .. few tables outside to the front of the pub & large lovely beer gardens at the back of the pub aswell. Definitely recommend”

  “Such a good pub! Food is amazing whether it’s the breakfast, lunch menu sandwiches, main menu and even better the Sunday menu! Good selection of spirits, bottled & draught drinks Staff are tentative also and very welcoming. If you get chance, drop by! Highly recommended :)”

  “Went to pub at whiston for a birthday lunch was seated across from 3 people with six dogs the dogs not really kept under control kept coming to our table whilst eating they was laid in middle of walk way even a member of staff had to stride over them I appreciate it is a dog friendly pub but not that many round one table especially within close proximity to another table at one point thought the dogs was going to Started fighting cos they started snapping at each other wasn't a good experience at all.”

  “Went here the other week for food, meal was nice, however the staff were dismissive and frankly rude, especially when it came to queries about the menu. Drinks were dumped on the table and not handed out. The staff made atmosphere quite hostile and awkward, which is a shame as we have never experienced that from this establishment. Would return despite this but think staffing needs to be addressed.”

  “Great atmosphere & a fantastic pint. The kitchen is massively letting this place down. The Chef is getting the basics wrong (if you’re reading this, don’t get annoyed, feedback is a gift for business to improve). 2 adult main meals and we left most of it & went home to eat. Triple cooked chips - soggy oven chips Ham pie - mostly dry pastry and a flavourless filling of fatty lumps. Roast potatoes on the Sunday lunch appeared to be boiled rather than roasted. Rest of the vegetables were limp and flavourless. Any kitchen that can’t execute roast potatoes, chips or a pie needs a shake. Potential to be a cracking little pub if they get a professional in the kitchen or just someone’s nanna that knows the basics.”

  “Really nice meal at The Golden Ball. Had the surf and turf, pork belly and sea bass – all cooked well and full of flavour. The sticky toffee pudding was great, and the espresso martini was spot on. Service from Louise and Ellie was friendly and attentive without being over the top – thanks both. It’s why we keep coming back.”

  “Called in for the first time in years, with my girlfriend. Great selection of ales and beautiful decor. Ordered 2 meals which came quite quickly. Absolutely great food. We'll definitely be going back soon.”
