About Lucky House
Lucky House is a Chinese takeaway in Redruth, located at 12 W End. The kitchen serves Chinese cuisine, and the menu includes prawn toast. Chips are served alongside the Chinese dishes, so a single order can combine the two. The takeaway is open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays. It trades in the evenings only, which makes it an option for dinner rather than lunch on each of the six days it opens.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split sharply on Lucky House, and the chips are the most common sticking point: described as cold, rubbery, dry enough to bin, or tasting day old and refried, while the prawn toast draws praise from one reviewer and a "bit off" verdict from another. Positive accounts, mostly from regulars, describe food that is hot, fresh and generously portioned, with orders arriving within 15 to 20 minutes and in-store waits that stay short. One diner turned to Lucky House after a different takeaway left them waiting hours. The special chow mein is called great, though the chicken satay and chicken chow mein come in for a gelatinous sauce and odd batter. Delivery is the other recurring complaint, with orders arriving after well over an hour, cold, or left in the rain on a drive. Two reviewers report finding a hair in their food, and one says a refund was refused after the food was thrown away. Several describe rude phone service, and a diner with a large order says no refund was offered directly. One reviewer was offered free chips next time.

“Not sure whats going on with the kirchen but the last 2 orders have been below par. Not enough to stop us ordering again but something has changed. Chips have been awful both times. Prawn toast amazing, special Chow mein great. Chicken satay was weired battered/breaded chicken with a gelatinis sauce not nice but eddible, Chicken Chow mein the same a gelatinis sauce not very nice looking”

“We’ve used Lucky House for years and the service is always consistently excellent. The food is always hot, fresh and full of flavour, with generous portions every time. Tonight we had a frustrating experience elsewhere, waiting over 3 hours for our food and then being told it would be another hour. We called Lucky House instead and they had our order cooked and delivered within 20 minutes. Fantastic customer service, great food and always reliable. It’s refreshing to find a takeaway that delivers the same amazing service every time. Highly recommended!”

“Order online - didn’t receive order after 2 hours.. no refund direct from Lucky house, offered nothing for a big order for 6 people and over £70! Had to apply through just eat for refund as owner was rude and the lady on the phone gave me sass… quite unimpressed, never ate here and never will!”

“I was honestly surprised to see the low ratings for this place. I always order in-store and wait for my food, and my experiences have been consistently great five or six times over the past year. The service is fast, the prices are very reasonable, and the food always tastes good. Definitely a reliable spot in my experience!”
