About Gwok Hing
Gwok Hing is a Chinese takeaway at 25 Station Rd in Preston. The menu covers fried rice, with special fried rice among the options, and salt and pepper dishes such as spare ribs. Beef dishes include crispy chilli beef, so a table order can mix rice, salt and pepper and beef plates from the same kitchen. Orders are placed over the phone rather than online, and payment is cash only, so customers should have cash ready when they collect.

Customer Review Summary
Fried rice is the dish reviewers return to most. The special fried rice is praised for its char siu, chicken, egg and plenty of vegetables, and the chicken fried rice is described as a genuinely authentic Chinese experience. Close behind are the beef dishes: a soft and juicy beef chow mein, crispy chilli beef and satay beef. Salt and pepper spare ribs and chicken wings also draw praise, along with Kung Po king prawn. Portions come up repeatedly as big or generous. Several reviewers call the value good, and one notes prices slightly below other local takeaways. Staff are described as friendly, lovely and helpful. The main complaint is speed. One reviewer waited far too long with no warning and no apology, said slow service had happened before, and would not return. Another notes that weekends and bank holidays get busier at peak times. Others describe easy phone orders, an accurate collection time and a fast pickup.

“In my eyes, this is the best Chinese food in my local area. It can be busier on weekends or bank holidays at peak times, but well worth the wait.”

“Food would have been good if we hadn’t been waiting for 50 minutes!! Far too long and no warning that it was going to take that time or we would have gone elsewhere. Not apologetic about it and if we hadn’t already paid the £40 definitely would have walked out. Not the first time service has been this slow either. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone”
