Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the dish reviewers raise most, with several praising the light batter, and one calling the fish light and crispy, served with tartar and mushy peas. Close behind is the Monk Fish Burger, described by one diner as one of the tastiest things they have eaten, with perfect chips. Others single out the Baked Camembert with cranberry chutney, tacos with cauliflower or beef, spicy margaritas, a Blackberry Bramble cocktail, and desserts of Crème Brûlée and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and a couple of walk-ins without a booking say they were found a table on busy days. Another reviewer says a manager warned of a possible wait, then brought the order sooner than predicted. The one clear complaint comes from a diner who waited 30 minutes while many tables sat empty, watched at least four later arrivals get menus and orders taken, and left. Several mention the beach view and a roaring fire, and one group was handed blankets to sit outside.

“Sooooo disappointed. Arrived at 1.25 and was showed to a seat and it was explained to us that they were quite busy although there was a lot of empty tables. After us waiting 30 min At least 4 tables came in after us and got a menu and got their order taken. We got up and left very disappointed.”

“Arrived without a booking at 6.00 pm very hungry. Weather cool but the inside restaurant was full. The manager was amazing gave us blankets for outside fabulous view of beach and explained realistically we might have to wait 35 minutes. However he brought our order within 15 minutes and it was freshly cooked. Great service. Fish and chips amazing very light batter. He was so understanding and helpful we had an American visitor with us and she was very impressed.”

“Turned up without a booking, the place was super busy but they sorted us a table two. Food was amazing, the Monk Fish Burger was one of the tastiest things I have ever eaten and the chips were perfect, we also had the fish and chips, fish was so light and crispy. Staff were really friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough.”
