Quick info
About Mina restaurant
Mina restaurant is a Kurdish restaurant on Fratton Road in Portsmouth, with fresh Kurdish tandoori naan baked to order in house. The kitchen centres on Kurdish kebabs, alongside other charcoal and tandoor dishes, and the menu also lists ice cream as a dessert option. A private dining room sits at the back of the large dining space for groups, and dogs are welcome inside. The restaurant is halal across its menu. Farsi music plays in the room as part of the setting, and the Aryan is served chilled in a cup. Service runs at a slow pace, with long waits between ordering and the food arriving, and the floor team does not check back with tables once the meal is served. Walk-ins are accepted throughout opening hours.

““A large restaurant that doesn’t have delivery service”

“Food was decent and at an affordable price point. But my word is the service poor. Every step took much longer than expected, from menus, to food ordering, to drinks. We weren’t asked once if food was fine or if we needed anything else. Maybe that is how this restaurant is? More of a quick dine, rather than establishing itself as a hospitable establishment.”

“It's a very beautiful restaurant, and one of the most beautiful restaurants, and with the cleanest food. I feel comfortable when I come to it.”

“Perfect! Loved the kofta! Milad was ace! He needs a pay rise!”

“Best-ever food! Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the lovely ice cream. 🍨 The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The Aryan was served beautifully in a fancy cup and was wonderfully cold. We had a fantastic experience, and the lovely Farsi music made it even more special. ❤️🌹✌🏻 Absolutely loved it! ❤️”
