About Las Iguanas - Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays

Las Iguanas at Gunwharf Quays is a Latin American restaurant and bar on the waterfront in Portsmouth, where the dining room is large and conversation often competes with the noise of a full house. The menu covers Latin staples such as tacos, with a chicken burger sitting alongside, and the cocktail list supports a bottomless brunch where staff keep glasses topped up through the sitting. An automatic 10% service charge is added to the bill. The kitchen prepares halal options, and the room is walk-in throughout service, with brunch available on a reservation basis. The location on the quays puts it within a short walk of the harbour and the outlet terraces.

Customer Review Summary

The bottomless brunch is the clear centre of attention, with reviewers repeatedly describing it as an enjoyable, drink-filled experience kept moving along by attentive servers. A single staff member is singled out in review after review for keeping glasses topped up and making occasions like a 20th birthday feel special, which lifts the experience beyond the food alone. Beneath that, reviewers call out the cocktails and the lively atmosphere as recurring positives.

“We had the bottomless brunch and enjoyed it so much, the staff were attentive and on it with the drinks! Definitely recommend! Thanks Sam and Chloe!”
  • Alexander Weller
“Visited Las Iguanas today for a family lunch. Seated quickly and drinks order taken promptly, although they took around 15 minutes to arrive and we waited a while to order food. Tacos were nice and the chicken burger was good, but my son's medium-rare steak arrived well overcooked. Overall, not bad, but there are better options nearby. The biggest annoyance was the automatic 10% service charge for a standard table of four. Yes, you can ask for it to be removed, but it relies on people not wanting to make a fuss. I'd rather choose my own tip based on the service received. Decent enough, but nothing to rush back for.”
  • Anony Mous
“The food was very average for these chain restaurants, and the wine most disappointing. Whilst the service was attentive and slick, the noise was horrendous, unable to have a conversation without shouting across the table!”
  • Megan Rustell
“Quick service from James, great atmosphere with amazing food 🤩”
  • Jo Zabiela
“Food was amazing, drink were flowing, James was great although very poor taste music haha”
