  “Google recommended the cafe as a place to get an English breakfast and it didn't disappoint. My wife and I both got the medium breakfast and it was perfect. And service was very good and friendly. Worth the visit!”

  “We haven’t been here in such a long time, but remembered the breakfast to be very decent. Sadly on this occasion. It didn’t live up to memory. A good brekkie lives or dies by its sausage, and, for me, these weren’t good. Quite mushy and a bit bland sadly. Also the cooking of bacon is obviously very individualistic. I like mine to be more cooked than this. Wasn’t bad just would have been nice to have a bit more colour. Pluses. Service is quick and friendly. The fried bread was lovely as were the mushrooms and beans. Also the egg was nice and runny. Overall. Ok”

  “I am extremely disappointed and honestly quite upset by our experience at this so-called “dog friendly” café. We arrived to see a “please wait to be seated” sign outside, which seemed strange considering there were no customers inside. We walked in (not realising this was apparently wrong) and I immediately asked politely if my small dog was welcome, as there is a “dog friendly” sign on the door. The waitress responded bluntly, “Only if she behaves.” Not exactly a warm or welcoming start. Things only got worse from there. My small dog was quietly sitting on my lap, not touching the table, not on the chairs, not bothering anyone. (The floor was filthy) Yet I was sharply told off in a very unfriendly manner and the waitress aggressively pointed to a sign saying “dogs on the floor.” She was on my lap, not on their furniture, not causing any issue. The tone was completely unnecessary and embarrassing. If you advertise yourself as dog friendly, you should actually be friendly, both to dogs and their owners. The attitude we received was rude, hostile, and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, the coffee was overpriced and the cake was stale. Overall, a horrible experience with extremely rude staff. If you don’t like dogs, don’t allow them. There are plenty of genuinely dog-friendly cafés out there. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially dog owners.”

  “The food itself was good. They do have a decent gluten free menu. The staff friendly, the location is obviously amazing. However, I do have to deduct two stars because I found two hairs in my meal!”

  “The BEST full English breakfast I’ve ever had! My breakfast was cooked to perfection and to my taste, as requested. Staff were warm, welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Best cafe is Portsmouth and I’m extremely fussy!”

  “Best breakfast in Portsmouth! This little café doesn’t have many covers so you may have to leave your number and they will call you when the table becomes available during busy periods, but I can assure you it will be worth the wait. They do other food baguettes and cakes but I go in for the full English breakfast, the bacon is always great quality the egg cooked perfectly and absolutely no grease. Staff are always polite and the cafe completely clean. It is a residential area so some parking is available, also a small car park with payable spaces”

  “Great small cafe in Old Portsmouth serving a good range of hot and cold food and lovely cakes. Hot and cold drinks available. Small place with about a dozen tables. The place is clean and tidy. Staff are helpful, polite and make time to chat. Prices are reasonable for the good portions sizes. Parking is on street parking in the local area, check signs for charges. The cafe is accessable by steps at the front. Sadly for me, this place allows dogs in, not to everyone's taste !!”

  “Was on a pub walk around Portsmouth and wanted somewhere to grab a breakfast to start the day. Turned up and it was busy but waited only a few minutes while space was found for 4 of us. Once seated a server came over to take our drinks choice. They didn't take long to come and in that time our food order was taken. Took every need our table had. You can even pick what tomatoes you want! When they breakfasts came out we were all very happy with the quality. I'd definitely come back here again, the staff were so friendly and helpful during the whole visit. Must try the cake next time which they have a good selection of.”
