What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention burgers, best of both roast, bottomless brunch and french fries.
Customer Review Summary
Friendly staff and a menu with standout plates draw the most praise. Diners name the Best of Both Roast, the Chicken Pops, the Southern Sunrise Croissant and the Turkish eggs, and one family from Portsmouth says they would travel just to eat the roast again. Reviewers also like the range of beers and cocktails, the coffee and the bottomless brunch, where staff handled allergens well. The burger is the recurring complaint. Three reviewers call it overcooked, too salty or simply poor, and one mentions burnt crispy bacon and a stingy portion of fries, though another found the fries really nice. Service draws mixed comments. One diner reports forgotten orders, dirty plates left on the table and an automatic tip added without consent. A local adds that bar stools taken at busy times leave little room for others to order, so queues form. One reviewer who disliked the burger notes that the manager took it and the sweet potato fries off the bill.

“From the outside this place would appear to have a classy vibe with a unique character, however upon entry it feels more like a box standard O'Neil. The burger was poor, very disappointing. The manager however was very welcoming and accommodating. He took the burger and sweet potato fries off the bill which was much appreciated. Plus the Turkish eggs were delightful.”

“Food was great, service was poor. The guy serving us constantly forgot what we asked for, left dirty plates on our table for the whole duration, then they had the cheek to automatically add 10% tip without consent. Overall, bit of a rubbish experience. Wouldn’t go again.”

“Service and Atmosphere good. The bar maid was a bit scantily dressed, depending on what floats your boat it may not be an issue but I found it slightly inappropriate. Finally, the food itself, an overcooked burger with burnt crispy bacon and a stingy portion of fries. Has the potential to be better than it is but for now, sorry only 3 stars.”
