Guests who stay overnight describe clean, friendly rooms and a relaxed Scottish breakfast served until midday, with pub food that arrives quickly and hot. Reviewers also praise staff who stayed on top of busy Friday and New Year's Eve crowds. The main complaint is noise from karaoke and quiz nights, with ear plugs provided. One reviewer found room 6 too cramped to open a suitcase.

“I stayed here 5 nights during the Commonwealth Games and was very pleased with my choice. I particularly liked the huge bath towels and the easy-going regime for traditional Scottish breakfast, whereby any time up to midday is fine. It seems a very well-run establishment, even boasting a night porter!”

“I recently stayed in Abbey Inn . (June 2026) The food was good…….normal pub grub. The bedroom No 6 was a complete disaster.. A luggage rack was supplied but due to the size of the room you could not even open it out. There was no floor space to open a suitcase……had to place it on the bed to open it..Getting along the bottom of the bed was well nigh impossible and had to shuffle sideways. Finally ,due to my own negligence I inadvertently left my phone charger and lead plugged in at the side of the bed. Having emailed I was advised that they had it and would post when I suppled my mailing address.Despite numerous unanswered emails I still have not received them. Verdict…… over priced through Booking.com”

“My family enjoyed another birthday celebration meal here on Friday. The staff werall very accommodating, food and drinks arrived promptly and enjoyed by us all. Staff still managed to keep on top of everything even though it was jumping at the bar on a Friday afternoon into evening. Very nice crowd which was good to see. Excellent staff!✨️”

“We wanted a cheaper hotel outside of Glasgow city centre. This pub has a small car park (approx. 7 cars, first come first served) and free onstreet parking is available. The pub is located about 20mins drive from Glasgow city centre; it has less than 10 rooms which are compact and ensuite. The rooms have a TV, hair drier, desk fan, vanity mirror desk, tea and coffee facilities. These rooms however are NOT sufficiently insulated against the noise from the pub which has regular karaoke, live entertainment and quiz nights nearly every night often finishing around midnight. They do provide EAR plugs if you're unable to sleep through the noise! Cooked (all fried) and continental breakfast is available and staff are most accommodating regarding your food requirements if you need anything different. The pub food is similar to a Wetherspoons and was served quickly and importantly arrived hot! My price for a two night stay B&B was £225 for two people. This was a lot cheaper than staying and paying for parking in Glasgow. The staff are very welcoming and helpful.”
