About Shelley Ongar Kebab & Pizza House
Shelley Ongar Kebab & Pizza House is a kebab shop in Ongar, on St Peter's Ave, with kebabs and pizzas on the same menu. The Kurdish Pizza is built on a garlic base and sits alongside the kebab range. Kebabs come as doner, shish, kofte and combo plates, and family-style kebabs are on the menu too. Chicken and halloumi kebabs and a lamb shish wrap give the grill side a few more options, and lamb chops are listed as well. Burgers and vegetarian dishes round out the choice for groups who want different things from one order. The TV shows live football at times.

“A very nice kebab house. Always fresh to order, quality is very good and prices are reasonable”

“Order arrived and was missing 2 x chilli sauce, a salad, and salad that should have been included in the chicken and a halloumi kebabs that we ordered. Contacted them straight away and they said they’d deliver the missing items. All we got was the missing salad, and only 1 chilli sauce. We paid for 1 chilli sauce and salad in the kebabs that never arrived. It’s not that difficult surely. Read what was ordered and pack it in the bag. Disappointed.”

Customer Review Summary
Regulars, some coming weekly for years, return for the pizza, with one reviewer always ordering the Kurdish pizza on a garlic base and another picking one up most weekends. Close behind are the lamb shish wrap, which one reviewer recommends, a burger described as one of the best a diner has had, and a kofta that earned praise. Friendly staff, food made fresh to order and speedy delivery recur across the positive reviews. The complaints are specific. One long-time customer found the chicken overcooked and the lamb lacking lamb flavour, then could not reach a manager because the line was engaged. Another felt four tiny lamb chops were poor value. A delivery arrived missing two chilli sauces and a salad, and after the shop promised to send them, only one salad and one chilli sauce came, leaving the salad inside the chicken and halloumi kebabs still absent.
