  “Very disappointed with our Father's Day visit. The building itself is lovely and has plenty of potential, but unfortunately that's where the positives end. The service was poor throughout. Staff were not particularly attentive, and the majority appeared to be very young and lacked the experience and customer service skills. What annoyed me most was the pricing. After our meal, I looked online at the restaurant's menu and noticed that the prices being charged on Father's Day were significantly higher than the prices advertised on the website. For example, a pizza we ordered was £16 in the restaurant but only £12.50 on the online menu. There was no separate Father's Day menu, no notice of special pricing, and no mention of any increase when booking. I appreciate prices can change, but customers should be made aware if they are going to be charged considerably more than the prices advertised online. The food itself was average at best, and the whole place lacked any atmosphere despite it being Father's Day. It certainly didn't feel like a special occasion. Overall, a very disappointing experience and not somewhere I will be returning to.”

  “Ordered a steak 🥩 received it cold. Complained. Waiter took it back. I was expecting a fresh cooked one. He brought the same one back and admitted it was only warmed up. I have been once before and found it quite nice. After this experience I'd never go back”

  “I came here on my own this evening I thought I'd treat myself and it's the first time coming here the food and service was excellent very nice friendly staff I highly recommend this place I will be back to try the calzone or a pizza in the very near future”

  “We have been to Sorella 3 times in the last 12 months following our daughters wedding dress fittings in the village. The wedding is in less than 3 weeks time and we are going to have to come up with a new reason to come to Uppermill so we can eat here. Every dish of every course has been amazing meaning a lot of sharing so everyone got to sample everything. The menu is varied and plenty on it, good wine list too and everything very reasonably priced. The service has been faultless and the restaurant is beautifully appointed with great ambience. There have been family parties going on when we have visited and it looks a fantastic place for a celebration. We would highly recommend and have to come back.”

  “I was quite disappointed with my visit. Unfortunately, both myself and the lady next to me left our meals almost untouched, as they were served well below an acceptable temperature. The chicken pasta, in particular, was underwhelming — the pasta was barely warm, the sauce lacked flavour, and the portion of chicken was minimal, overcooked, and tasteless. The service also fell short. While it was busy, the staff came across as unfriendly and made us feel more like an inconvenience than welcomed guests. We waited around 30 minutes for a soft drink and had to ask for it multiple times before it arrived. On a positive note, the meatball starter was enjoyable, which is why I’ve given 2 stars. However, overall the atmosphere, food, and service did not meet expectations. As the restaurant had been highly recommended, I can only assume our experience was not typical — but based on this visit, I wouldn’t return.”

  “Lovely restaurant and ambience with good service. Great choice of menu and something for everyone. Two points that were disappointing. Our table. We were a party of 7, where 4 people were forced into the same dining space that three people should normally occupy, rather than put an end seat on or arrange it better. Second point. I had seafood linguine. Pasta and sauce was very good. Seafood was a let down. The chef either didn’t check my meal or didn’t care. Of the 5 clams in my meal, 3 were closed. Same with the mussels, I sent most of the mussels back as they were closed - those that weren’t, were overcooked That dish should never have left the kitchen with so much dead seafood.”

  “**Review for Sorella Restaurant, Uppermill, Oldham** I recently dined at Sorella in Uppermill, Oldham, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I ordered the lamb orecchiette, expecting a flavorful dish, but I was quite disappointed. The dish tasted watery and surprisingly spicy, with almost no lamb flavor coming through. It was as if the main ingredient was missing altogether. My mother had the lasagne, which was even more of a letdown. It was so overly salty that it was nearly inedible. We could barely take more than a few bites before giving up on it entirely. To their credit, the staff did ask us what was wrong and offered to change our dishes. However, by the time this was suggested, the other members of our party had already finished their meals, so it felt too late to bother with a replacement. We decided to take the food home instead, but what really upset us was being charged full price for meals that were clearly not up to standard. While the service was polite, I can't say we left satisfied. Paying full price for such a disappointing experience felt unfair. I hope Sorella can take this feedback to heart and make improvements, as I would hesitate to return based on this experience.”

  “Went for a date night, and would recommend! The pan fried seabass spaghetti was delicious. The scallops were good, as was the garlic bread (which is a big portion btw). Service was excellent.”
