About Fresca Italian Restaurant
Fresca Italian Restaurant is an Italian restaurant at Gatehead Business Park in Oldham, open Thursday to Sunday and closed Monday to Wednesday. Sunday service adds an Italian take on the traditional roast, so the weekend closes with a roast menu alongside the regular dishes. The main menu runs from hand-tossed pizzas, including one topped with chicken, ham, pepperoni and beef, to fresh pasta and risotto. Starters include homemade meatballs and pan-fried button mushrooms, and hot chocolate fudge cake is on the dessert list. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are available, and diners with dietary requirements speak to a manager. The bar makes cocktails and keeps a wine list, and it doubles as the waiting area before diners are seated. Tables can be booked in advance.

Customer Review Summary
Food is what reviewers praise most, calling it excellent, delicious and tasty, with one diner singling out the Sunday roast and two others raving about the cocktails, one calling it the nicest they have ever tasted. Several describe friendly staff, and one longtime regular calls it a family favourite. The most repeated complaint is pace. One reviewer reports a very long wait for starters and another long gap before the mains. Another says food took a long time to arrive with only half the restaurant full, after being left in the bar area until they asked to be seated. A few recent reviews also say value has slipped, citing a burnt starter, a fatty fillet steak, a pizza with sparse toppings, stingy fries and a hot chocolate fudge cake described as thumb-sized. One diner who raised the thin pizza with the waiter was asked if they wanted anything else, and said no, since the taste was still nice.

“Food is excellent and cannot be faulted. Staff are very friendly, however service at our meal was very slow. Over an hour for the starters to arrive and at least another 40 mins after finishing the starters before the mains”

“Didn't really enjoy it this evening. Burnt starter, main meal wasn't all that. Not worth the money and never thought I'd say that about Fresca cos it used to be great value and really nice food every time. Last few visits have been a bit lame and probably won't go back 😕”

“My mum and I had a fantastic meal here, the food was delicious and service was spot on. We also had the nicest cocktail I have probably ever tasted made by Faye in the bar area. Thank you for a wonderful festive night out, I will definately be returning.”

“Poor experience tonight, left in the bar area until we had to ask to be seated, taken to the wrong table (12 seats ?), not given any menus till we had to ask for them, took a long time for food to arrive despite only half the restaurant being full, fillet steak was fatty and the staff were not attentive at all. Not great!”

Good to know
“Fresca, the Italian word for fresh. Fresca skilfully combines all the celebrated traditions of Italian cuisine with a chic, contemporary setting that is perfect for either an intimate dinner or group celebration. Our menu is truly versatile, and offers a range of dining options. Traditional Italian delicacies are served in many forms - from hand-tossed pizzas to fresh pasta and risotto. We have also vegetarian and vegan options (you must speak to a manager to advise them on your dietary requirements) and a children's menu. Starter like homemade meatballs or pan-fried button mushrooms. We also have an Italian take on the traditional Sunday roast. We also offer colourful cocktails and a carefully-crafted wine list.”
