About Divoday Nails and Beauty

Divoday Nails and Beauty runs on a walk-in basis as a nail salon in Nottingham, sitting at 8A Compton Acres Shopping Centre, so customers are seated on arrival rather than booking ahead. The salon stocks gel colour rather than normal polish, with hundreds of shades on hand alongside nail art and designs to pick from. Regular work includes acrylic infills, gel on natural nails and acrylic sets finished with french tips. The team asks which shape you want your nails filed to, square or short among the options, before starting. Sittings generally run somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour and a half, and a second nail tech sometimes takes over partway through a set. A step-free entrance keeps the salon reachable for visitors with mobility needs. Doors open Monday to Saturday, with Sundays closed.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers who rate the salon highly most often credit friendly staff and nail art, with gel colours in wide variety, one noting hundreds to choose from. Several say their nails come out exactly as asked, one used a wedding nails trial and plans the same again, and another says they never feel rushed and finds the salon bright and clean. A mixed review calls gel on natural nails long lasting and good value, though not a luxury experience, and notes some staff speak little English and chat to each other in another language.

“Feel the salon has really gone downhill. Daughter had infills today and lady doing them was on her phone for a liong time while trying to do them then later got up and left with no communication. Man taking over didnt knkw what to cintinue with she diidnt say. Talked constantly throughout the appt to each other no idea what was going on - seemed rude. Second time in there recently and not impressed- used to be so good will be finding a new salon -”

“Went in for short french tips checked price board outside so I knew how much I was paying for normal colour ( board states normal colour and gel ) as I’m allergic to gel. When it came to doing the tip double checked it was not gel, they said they only have gel colour don’t stock normal nail polish so left with no design and just the acrylic application with top coat Also not filed straight at all they dip massively in the middle ! Paid £33 for something that basically wasn’t finished”

“Was a bit apprehensive about going due to mixed reviews on here. Overall I had a good experience. Most of the staff are Thai. Some speak good English and some don't, so if you want a chat while there, it might not be the right place. I was in silence during the time there. Some of the staff do chat to each other in another language, but I didn't mind that. They are nice and friendly. I went for gel on my natural nails, there were 100s of colours to choose from. I was done in about 45 minutes. I was asked what type of shape for my nails. Not a luxury experience but good value for money. They don't take cards, so try to have cash on you. My gel fingers were £23 Gel lasted well, and I was happy with the results.”

“If I could it would be zero stars - I've never had such a bad experience at a nail salon. I came in with my mother today for infills. We walked in and was asked to take a seat, at that point, Cody, who got up to do my nails muttered something in Thai to a colleague, who started to laugh. It made us a little uncomfortable but we continued with the service. Half way through I felt the acrylic he had applied was uneven, so I asked Cody to thin out the bumpy bit, to which he snapped back and told me he hadn't finished. His tone was abrupt and aggressive. I was taken aback by that but didn't say anything, however my mum commented on his tone, he then went on to tell me I shouldn't tell him what to do and that he knows what he's doing. I pointed out there was no need to be rude and his retort was that if I was at a hairdresser, I wouldn't tell them what to do - bizarre! He then decided he wasn't going to carry on with my nails and walked off whilst still ranting at me, at that point I asked him to stop talking to me and he told me to get out of his chair as he stormed off! He made such a scene that the other customers heard the altercation! I felt really uncomfortable but had to sit there while my mother's nails were finished. The other staff members said he was in a bad mood and tried to make excuses for him. He came back in after a few minutes and carried on with someone elses nails! May, who was doing my mothers nails offered to finish mine but I declined, no apology or discount was offered to keep my custom as there was no manager on site to authorise and I just wanted to leave at that point. I left the shop with awful looking nails and I will have to go elsewhere to have them re-done. Really awful and unnecessary experience!”
