Customer Review Summary

Reviewers mostly describe weddings and private events, hosted in the marquee or stretch tent and garden. Food draws praise, especially pizza, halloumi skewers and a BBQ with pork belly, though one reviewer notes sausage rolls divided guests. Overnight guests praise spacious rooms and breakfast, and say road noise never bothered them. One couple recalls staff packing their belongings into boxes as the evening wound down.

“We held our wedding Reception at Sugarbeat Eating House and genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team. From the moment we booked to the moment we packed up the following day, the communication was smooth, friendly, and completely stress‑free. Stevie (the owner) was always available, calm, and ready to help with anything we needed. I loved his personal touch of greeting us when we arrived with a glass of bubbly each. We really appreciated his honesty throughout the whole process. He also oversaw the delivery of our furniture hire and bouncy castle hire so we didn't need to be there. Side note - the Sugarbeat does supply tables and benches but as I had elderly relatives attending I decided chairs were more appropriate. The food was absolutely delicious (that's an understatement!) Everyone remarked how great it was especially the pizza and halloumi skewers. We had welcome drinks (via a ticket system), a BBQ, toast drinks, and a pizza buffet, and every part of it was spot‑on. Our guests were full of compliments all day. The sausage rolls, however, divided opinions because some were loving them and saying it was the best sausage roll and some hated them. Unfortunately, we were too late to get a look in with the sausage rolls so personally we can't comment (so obviously more people found them delicious than not 😆). The service was top tier. Phoebe went above and beyond for us, constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. She didn’t just place our wedding cake and desserts on a table, she organised staff to help serve them to everyone which made everything feel thoughtful and cared for. We weren't expecting that as it was already communicated that staff may be too busy in the restaurant. The stretch tent was perfect for our day. Spacious, airy, and beautifully lit with dimmable lights that made the evening feel magical. We decorated it ourselves, and the space worked so well for a laid‑back, relaxed atmosphere. Sugarbeat Eating House were amazing throughout. They were friendly, calm, organised, and genuinely invested in making our day special. We would recommend them for absolutely everything: weddings, events, meals, parties. Their whole setup is brilliant, and I already know where I'll be recommending for future events… maybe my husband's 40th birthday next year. 😉 Five stars without hesitation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“We had a 1 night stay here as we had a wedding at a big venue about 5 minutes up the road. My partner was a groomsman and had to be at the venue for early morning, with check in time being around 2 this meant I wouldn’t have anywhere to go whilst I wait for him and get ready. We let SugarBeat know about a week in advance and they said they would try and make a space for me to get ready etc. We called again on the day and they were aware and kindly reassured us they would help (even though they were fully booked with a wedding party from the night before). I really can’t fault how accommodating, lovely, and approachable all the staff here were. They ended up cleaning the room promptly and allowing me into my room early which was just so kind and helpful. You don’t get service like this often nowadays and it was so nice staying here and experiencing this. The room was lovely, spacious with air con, and the breakfast really good (with consistent friendly and professional service). Thank you so much for making a bit of a pickle of a day run smoothly. It did not go un noticed. X”

“We hosted a 40th birthday party at the venue and it was a perfect location. The management team enabled the whole experience from start to finish to be nothing but enjoyable. Planning and organising was easy with clear communication and advice on options (food and drink packages). The venue was perfect with the band playing in the marquee and guests being able use the outside bar area. The staff were fantastic during the party also. Great service with a friendly approach. We stayed the night of the party and had three of the four rooms. All were clean, comfortable and spacious. All round brilliant evening at a brilliant location.”

“Stayed here for a party at Dunston Hall and was certainly the better choice. We had a lovely room, plenty of parking, far more reasonable price. Breakfast was fantastic, unfortunately we didn't get to have another meal here but what we saw looked great. Service was faultless, staff was so friendly and quick to help and advise on anything. Stayed by chance but would without doubt go back. Was a little worried about road noise when we arrived but never bothered us and had a good night's sleep. Thank you to all, especially the young lady who came to my fiance rescue when her button came off just before heading to the party, life saver 😊👍”

“We recently held our company summer party at SugarBeat Eating House, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The booking process was straightforward, and the team were incredibly helpful, accommodating, and responsive throughout the planning stages. On the day, everything was exceptionally well organised, allowing us to relax and enjoy the event. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect for a company celebration. Every member of staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The feedback from our employees has been fantastic. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, and we've received so many positive comments about the venue, the quality of the food, and the professionalism of the team. A huge thank you to everyone at SugarBeat Eating House for helping make our summer party such a memorable occasion. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the venue to anyone looking to host a private event, and we're already looking forward to returning for our summer party next year! Thank you again for a wonderful experience.”
