Quick info
About Blue Joanna
On Unthank Road in Norwich, Blue Joanna is a pan-Asian restaurant and bar with a small-plates menu built for sharing two to three dishes per person. The kitchen covers Korean, Japanese and broader Asian influences, with Korean tofu tacos as a recurring plate alongside pork belly, vegan and vegetarian options, and a wakame tofu special. Cocktails are central to the bar side of the room, and the kitchen runs nut free, with staff flagging this for guests with allergies. The atmosphere is loud, driven by a playlist that has included live guitar, and bookings are required. Dogs are welcome inside. Service is timed attentively across the floor.

“Our second visit and even better than the first. Loads of vegan options and the cocktails are a massive highlight. Service was super friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and well timed. We were celebrating a big anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our evening and felt it was good value for money. The wakame tofu special was fun and the korean tacos get 10/10 from us. Whoever was in charge of music absolutely nailed it, great playlist. We’ll be back - just expect to raise your voice to chat!”

“Went with seven with ages from 16 to 87. Something for everyone. Daughter has a nut allergy and is anxious eating out. They put her at ease and explained they were nut free. You guys at Blue Joanna should USP that. Great host, great food, pork belly to die for. Great atmosphere with a guitar happy birthday for my daughter. Spicy Cosmo was lush.”
- Stephanie Harvey
“Amazing food, so many flavours and love the tapas feel to it. Service was good, though at times felt like we were being rushed, atmosphere was good fun, just a little loud if you like to talk . Fab little place”
