Customer Review Summary

Delivery draws the most complaints, with very long waits and orders arriving cold, dry or incomplete. One diner received two curry half and half portions with almost no curry, another had a cracked gravy tub leak over the food, and a replacement order reportedly came cold and missing sauces before staff refused another. The chicken chow mein and beef chow mein are called dry and tasteless, the beef and black pepper lacks pepper, and the sweet and sour Cantonese is mostly pineapple, with one long-time customer saying standards have slipped in recent months. One reviewer found hair in the batter, another calls the woman on the phone rude, and one reports misconduct by the owner. Collection fares better: a few describe food ready sooner than quoted, hot and fresh, with chicken in black bean sauce praised and a couples deal that feeds a family of five with some left over.

“I personally had a great meal (chicken in black bean sauce, half & half chips boiled rice, it was so flavourful AND i had no hairs in my food which i cannot say for all Chinese's / takeaway, great service over the phone lovely woman and had it all ready within about 5 to 7 mins on a wednesday at about 4 or 5 o'clock so not exactly peak rush hour. buuuuut... takeout is usually a hit or miss so you MAY have a different experience”

“The place called itself a restaurant, but it felt more like a trap that forgot to pretend. Grease hung in the air like a threat. Every surface shined in that dishonest way, the way filth does when it’s been wiped just enough to hide. I remember thinking that nothing here was clean — not the tables, not the food, not the people who watched too closely and smiled anyway. The chicken arrived looking already defeated. Pale, swollen, drowning in a slick sauce that caught the light like spit. I cut into it and it didn’t tear — it slid apart, limp and rubbery, leaking a cloudy film that pooled on the plate. When I tasted it, rage flared before disgust even had time to land. It was lukewarm, soft in the wrong places, resistant in others, like it didn’t want to be eaten but had already given up. It coated my mouth, left a greasy residue that felt intentional, like the food itself was complicit in what that place did to people. I should have left. I think about that all the time — how my body knew before I did. The owner hovered. Too close. Always too close. The kind of closeness that dares you to object so he can act offended, like you’re the problem for noticing. When it happened, my anger came late, crashing in after the shock wore off. In the moment, my body went still, like it was trying not to make things worse. That stillness gets mistaken for consent by people who benefit from it. I hate that. I hate him for it. What makes me angriest isn’t just what he did — it’s how ordinary he acted afterward. Like nothing had happened. Like I was supposed to swallow it the same way I swallowed that disgusting excuse for food. Like the violation was just another item on the menu. I left, but the place followed me. The smell. The taste. The fury of realizing that some people build lives around taking what they shouldn’t and expecting silence in return. I’m not silent anymore.”
