Quick info
About Lee Garden
Lee Garden is a Chinese takeaway in Newry, at 2 Merchants Quay. It opens daily in the evenings only, and it stays open later than most other Chinese takeaways, which suits anyone ordering after the usual dinner hour. The gravy half and half meal pairs chicken balls with sausage, and the chicken balls come with a dip. Sweet and sour chicken with chips covers the familiar takeaway order. Cheesy chicken rolls sit alongside it for anyone who wants something different from the standard menu, and chicken curry rounds out the range.

Customer Review Summary
Praise centers on the rolls and dumplings. One reviewer returned after years away and called the new chicken curry and rice rolls delicious, while another liked the cheesy chicken rolls and the dumplings with their spicy dip. A gravy half and half with chicken balls and sausage also gets a mention. Two reviewers praise the portions, the speed of service and food served hot, and one calls the woman at the front lovely. The complaints carry real weight, though. Soggy food recurs, with chips described as not crisp and a chicken curry called horrible, and delivery is described as slow. One reviewer received sweet and sour chicken balls instead of chicken pieces and was told the delivery app's menu was to blame. Another found vegetables in an order placed without them, plus a black hair in a child's food. Two reviewers report being ill after eating. Late hours draw praise from one reviewer, yet another found the shutters down and the phone unanswered at half past midnight, for the second time.

“Advertised as being open to 1am yet I have drove past 5 mins ago and they have shutters down and not answering phone prior to calling down to the Chinese, its now 12.36am...hate the way companies do this, won't be near the place again as this is the 2nd time I have called at 12.30 ish and they closed, very poor service”

“Update 01/12/25 - Just had their new Chicken Curry and Rice rolls tonight, and they were so good I had to update my review. Sooo delicious and fully recommended 🔥. --- Dropped in to Lee Garden for the first time in 6 years since my last review and have to admit it was very tasty. Tried there dumplings for the first time which tasty, especially with the included dip (not sure what type of dip it was, bit it was delicious albeit a bit spicy). Also had a gravy half and half meal with chicken balls and sausage and a generous portion of cheesy chicken rolls which were both tasty too 😋. Will definitely be back.”
