  “ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL! AVOID! I pass this place regularly and as there's limited chinese takeaway available in Newquay I read some reviews which are very hit and miss so I decided to pop in to grab some chips. My theory was if the chips are no good then the full Chinese menu will be no good but if the chips are decent then I'd come back and get a proper meal at some point.. So yesterday evening I was passing and decided it would be a good time to test my theory. I entered the shop and there were 5 people sat waiting in silence. I stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes before anyone even came out to acknowledge me. When the girl came out I ordered a portion of chips, a portion of salt and pepper chips and a pot of curry sauce. Order came to £9.20 I think which is pretty reasonable for Cornwall prices. What I wasn't aware of from the moment I placed my order was that I'd then be stood waiting at the counter for over an hour for some chips! The girl didn't think to tell me before accepting my order that the kitchen was slow and the wait would be not worth it. If she had said it might be 15-20 minutes or more I could have made a decision to just leave it as no chippy is worth that wait for chips but an hour is absolutely unacceptable! Whilst waiting for my chips it became apparent the kitchen were putting out meals in the exact order they were placed rather than the most efficient way. The girl brought out orders at 20 minute intervals and read them out and some orders didn't even have chips so why my chips couldn't have been in the fryer at the same time is an absolute mystery. Clearly the chef(s) can't multitask and make the most basic foods. After a few people had left one person came back in because an item was missing then when he left it was just me and one lady. The atmosphere was miserable and the shop was silent so I decided to break the ice and make small talk. I asked her if it was usually like this and she said she had already been waiting over an hour. I was in there for probably about 45 minutes by this point. She brought up how telephone orders were coming through and the girl was telling them to come collect in 20 minutes which was stupid as service was so slow. When her food was finally brought out she questioned why it had taken over an hour and the girl serving said it's like this every night because the chef is slow and lazy and useless. Which is probably true but wasn't a professional way to speak. After she left I was the last person in the shop until a man entered swearing his head off bad mouthing the owners to the girl at the desk. (I think he was a delivery driver but not 100% sure) he was bad mouthing them cursing them out for commenting on his appearance and then proceeded to bad mouth an elderly customer with dementia. His language was absolutely disgusting. The girl behind the counter was giggling and joining in with the insults. To be honest if she has to deal with complaints on a daily basis because of the none existent efficency in the kitchen I kind of feel sorry for her. She came across like she's reached the point she no longer cares and her attitude and professionalism are atrocious. After about 50-55 minutes a lady came out from the back and asked what my order was. I told her and she said it will be right out... I then waited another 15-20 minutes before the girl at the counter brought it out. She said "Chips Salt and pepper chips And a curry." And then proceeded to giggle as she handed over the food. No apology. No sorry for your wait. No would you like a bottle of pop or something as a gesture of good will for the terrible experience. Honestly this was probably the single worst takeout experience I've ever had and it's a shame because the chips were actually quite decent (although unseasoned) thankfully I had salt and vinegar at home and the curry sauce was nice. But after that ridiculous waiting time and the unprofessionalism and language I had to listen to I will never come back. Completely unacceptable. The customer service was frankly inexcusable.”
