  “After being a long time customer of Bannys and Mother Hubbards, i was sick of seeing their portions get smaller and prices get higher and tired of having to re-mortgage my house every time we wanted a fish n chips meal. I saw this little shop driving past and thought lets give it a try. Boy, what a stop i decided to make. This shop is amazing, proper decent portions, proper fish with a beautiful light and crispy batter, and full size portion of chips. Not like the stingy guys at mother hubbards. These guys are local and are willing to give all their customers great value for money. Very good service and great to see that they do all the usual fish n chip items and extras too. They also do meal deals which are way better than any others around. Definitely the best around. Keep it up guys. Thank you”

  “First time ordering and blown away! My mum, sister, 3 kids, and I all loved it. Proper chippy chips done to perfection, plus the plain, salt & vinegar, and masala fish were all incredible. Absolutely worth every penny—quality like this is priceless. Keep it up, guys, we're lifetime customers now”

  “I was born next to a fish and chip shop. My auntie owned and ran one. I would claim i have a knowledge. This is Absolutely THE BEST THE CRISPEST TASTIEST BATTER THE WHITEST FISH Some say go to the seaside. I say bring the seaside here to learn how to get it right.”

  “Made my debut at Nelson Fisheries today. Me and the Mrs had a mini meal each. We was stuffed! Nice light fish, nice clean batter. Gravy and curry sauce was decent also”

  “Excellent traditional fish and chips, cooked fresh to order so very hot and crispy. The deal to include a side and drink is great value. If the high quality and standard of service is maintained it's definitely a regular go to for us.”

  “This shop has new owners now so.i tried them after the previous owners shrunk portions and fish size that put many people off. The service was great and I got a special fish and chips. Its a proper big size of fish about a inch thick all the way through. The chips are fantastic 😋 and you get a tray full. Everything was cooked spot on. Batter on fish could be a bit thinner.🤔 The older guys could do.with being a bit more hygiene conscious. Ie hand washing Special fish and chips is.the one to get. Best fish and chips in town.”

  “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing experience! The fish was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour some of the best I’ve had. The chips were crispy and golden, just how they should be. On top of that, the service was outstanding! The staff were so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. You can tell they really care about their customers. Highly recommend this place I’ll definitely be back!”

  “Utley Fisheries opened their doors in Nelson this year (2025). Situated on Leeds Road just outside the town centre, a little further up from Wavelengths leisure centre. We ordered via Just Eat, it's probably cheaper to order directly. We ordered a regular sized fish and chips, adult fish bites and chips, a regular sized fish (plus scraps), a dozen onion rings, a chicken burger with chips, large tub of mushy peas and a standard tub of cheese sauce. The chicken burger was the old school classic style chicken burger not the fillet burger that is popular today. Total cost was £41.10 including delivery. Food was warm when we got it and cooked well. Portion sizes were decent too. Everyone enjoyed their meal and would recommend.”
