Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast is the standout draw, repeatedly described as perfectly cooked and the best many diners have had, with high-quality beef singled out. Close behind are the starters and desserts, including arancini, warm chewy cookies and milk for children, and a shared cookie dough and chocolate pebble. Steaks cooked exactly to request and well-kept drinks, including delicious cocktails and admirable wine choices, also earn consistent praise. Diners highlight the warm, engaging service, noting that the waiting staff make a point of speaking to children as equals. The pub is also fondly noted for being dog friendly in the bar area, with reviewers recalling how kind the owners and staff were to their pets, even making a fuss over a sick lab. Several suggest booking ahead for Sunday to avoid disappointment, though a few note they were still seated without a reservation. Many visits are capped by the welcoming touch of staff finding a table for walk-ins or going out of their way to help guests arrange transport.

“Never been let down here ever! Staff are amazing and the food speaks for itself ..wether it’s a meal without children or with them the service is amazing every time. The chef is amazing the prices may be pub food but that is not what you’re given…give them a try if you haven’t!”

“What a find, great service, lovely environment and fabulous food. We went around 1pm on a Sunday and managed to be seated without booking, although in future I’d book ahead as to not be disappointed”

“We've eaten at the Pic several times and never been disappointed. Food is always cooked perfectly, steak exactly as requested, fish flaked away easily for example and nicely presented, with a decent portion size. Everything is fresh and tasty. Service is excellent and drinks are well kept. Cocktails are delicious too. It's a lovely pub/restaurant with a nice atmosphere and dog friendly in the bar (no dogs in the restaurant part which is separate). We love Buddy, the residential spaniel 🥰 When our lab was ill, we took her in a few times, during a quieter period, after a visit to the vet next door and the owners and staff were so kind. She loved her time there and being made a fuss of, something we won't forget and whilst this isn't our local, we keep recommending and want to support.”
