  “We stopped here for a drink whilst on a camping trip I'm Scotland and found it to be great, the beer was excellent and there was plenty of choice if something else is your tipple. We were made to feel welcome and so was our dog. We had a game of pool and I would happily of spent a few hours there.”

  “A quaint little pub on sleepy Main St Straiton, surrounded by Roses round the door Cottages but not much else. If you want peace and quiet Straiton is the place for you The pub serves excellent food. Steak pie is to die for and the ladies serving are so friendly Definitely worth a try.🤗”

  “We turned up tired and hungry and they were very welcoming. They put up a really good gluten and dairy free meal no bother (my wife is a coeliac and also lactose intolerant), plus 3 other really tasty and good sized meals. This is a dog friendly pub.”

  “Excellent village pub,Land lady and Landlord very helpful and friendly. Food excellent, best of all we could take our little doggie in who got on very well with the "pub dogs" .A must if you are in the are a !”

  “Unwelcoming landlord and death by passive smoking. Such a shame that one of the last genuine pubs in the area is ran in such a way. Great if you like a pint with a long full of cigarette smoke and an unfriendly welcome. I about turned as soon as I stepped foot within.”

  “my self and my friend enjoyed a meal on a Friday evening 6 weeks ago so much so I recommended it to my nephew and partner for his 30th birthday. I was sick and embarrassed to hear he was refused due to clive not having the stove/cooker on all day so was not going to put it on for him. clive never even looked up from the football he was watching to respond it must be good to be able to turn away business or does he treat young people differently. after this I shall never be back which will be a shame as I was brought up in the village, when the coulters ran it.”
