Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out friendly, helpful staff, especially at the bar, where a gin and tonic and signature cocktails earn praise and the bartenders offer cocktail recommendations even when busy. Close behind is the food. Calamari is named by more than one diner, alongside fish and chips, steak, Argentinian prawns, sea bass curry, pad Thai, halloumi with sweet potato fries and a poke bowl that one found a bit spicy. One diner felt the prawns needed peeling and were too oily to handle comfortably. Several describe a relaxed place to sit after shopping or before a film. Two reviewers report poor visits. One was left waiting at the door with no acknowledgement, then waited a long time for steak sandwiches that sat on the pass, and overcooked fish fingers led to a muddled replacement that arrived just after they had said not to bother. Another was served a salad topped with chicken instead of the halloumi ordered, while a steak sandwich went cold.

“I am writing to raise a serious complaint about a recent lunch visit to All Bar One at the Trafford Centre. My wife and I are regular customers and have always found the restaurant clean and the service good, which is why this experience was so disappointing. My wife, who is vegetarian, ordered the halloumi salad from the lunch menu, and I ordered the steak sandwich. When the food arrived, my sandwich was correct, but my wife’s salad arrived topped with chicken instead of halloumi. We politely flagged this to our waitress, who apologised and said she would get it corrected. While we waited, I held off eating my own sandwich so we could eat together, and it went cold as a result. As the kitchen is open-plan, I was able to see what happened next: rather than preparing a fresh dish, the chef simply removed the chicken from the same plate, and added halloumi in its place. I intercepted our waitress on her way back to our table to tell her what I had seen, as this was clearly unacceptable for a customer with a vegetarian requirement — the plate had been in direct contact with meat. Staff were apologetic and offered to prepare a proper fresh dish, but understandably our confidence in the food had been lost. My own meal was now stone cold, and what should have been a pleasant lunch left us both feeling very let down. I would like to understand what steps will be taken to ensure dietary requirements are handled properly and safely in future, particularly around avoiding cross-contamination for vegetarian orders. I would appreciate a response addressing this.”

“Nipped in for a cocktail after shopping with my husband. Drinks were served by a girl called Annabel who was very polite and friendy. My husband commented on how hard she seemed to working as it was very busy however this didnt stop her taking the time to recommend another cocktail to me. Vey happy and will be back again.”

“The food was excellent, the staff and service were amazing and went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, Alex M and Dylan. We will definitely return. Poke bowl is a bit spicy for me but my husband loved it. Thank you.”

“Absolutely shocking place. Sign at door saying wait to be seated. Stood for nearly 10mins with no one paying any notice. Walked in to ask if had tables to be told just sit anywhere. Sat down and waited again for drinks order to be taken. Wait again. Finally food order taken, 35 mins later no food. Knives, forks & napkins brought out on dirty plates. Can see 4 steak sandwiches & 1 fish finger sandwish sitting on the pass waiting to come out, they sat there for nearly 10mins Finally got food. Steak all ok, not hot but not cold, but the fish fingers were like slithers and so overcooked, when a girl came over to ask if everything was ok and we said no, the fish fingers are burnt, to which she replied “oh I don’t know” so we asked for someone that could deal with it. A woman came over took the plate away and asked if a replacement was required, answered yes please, she said she would rush it through, 15mins later the young girl came back and asked if we wanted anything else, we said we were waiting on replacement meal, she went off to check, other woman came back, “oh sorry I thought you said you didn’t want another!” She had said she was rushing the order through!! Told her not to bother now we’d lost patience. Less than a minute later the young girl appears with a fresh meal!! Obviously no one in this place has a clue what is going on, absolutely ridiculous. There was only 5 of us, god help them if they had a big group to cater to. Won’t be returning.”
