Quick info
About Toby Carvery Ainsworth
Toby Carvery Ainsworth is a carvery on Bury and Bolton Rd in Manchester, where a carver slices the Carvery Meats at the counter, with beef and gammon among the cuts. Vegetables and trimmings are self-serve. The menu runs to 20 dishes. An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is served alongside the carvery, with hash browns, sausages and mushrooms. Staff ask about allergies when seating guests, and unglazed meat can be cut on request because the glaze on the carvery meats contains onion powder. A private dining room gives groups their own space, and the counter usually has a queue at busy times. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the carvery itself, with beef and other carved meats called delicious and piping hot, plus self-serve veg and trimmings. Yorkshire puddings are described as huge, and breakfast gets credit for hash browns cooked perfectly and return trips for extra sausages and mushrooms. Friendly carvers and servers come up repeatedly, and staff asking about allergies on seating earns particular praise. Complaints are specific. One diner describes a slow queue while the carver chatted, then received a fat piece of fat when asking for gammon and beef, with veg too dry and only the gravy saving the meal. Another says a delivered carvery arrived as a children's portion with scraps of meat. One suggests booking at weekends. One reviewer with an onion reaction recalls a manager checking every carvery item, then having the chef cut beef before the glaze went on.

“Had an amazing Carvery today. I was greeted at the door by Carys and Jen, who were both extremely friendly and welcoming. My server was Nick, who had a very relaxed and easy going nature. My Carvery was served by Phil and Rach. Everything was piping hot and fresh and the meat was delicious. Highly recommend.”

“Despite this being a busy carvery the layout of the place still gives the place a cosy feel. The food is good and the staff are really pleasant and helpful. Recommend booking particularly on weekends.”

“Visited in the week in the school holidays. The food here is outstanding. You can help yourself to all the veg/trimmings that u like. The yorkshires are crazy huge! They taste amazing. The guy serving us was polite and nice. We went at 11.45 to try to get it not busy and the start of lunch. It was completely rammed though. It might have been an event on, unsure, but there were a lot of people. There was a toilet, didnt spot the disabled but assume there is one. Womens toilet was ok. Was mega hot in there but it was summer.”

“Great from start to finish we visited on Tuesday, we didn't have a booking but they had space. We were seated quickly and our drinks order taken then straight up for carvery. All very tasty! Our server was Kat who was very polite and attentive, thank you.”
