About Knead Neapolitan Pizza, Maidenhead
Knead Neapolitan Pizza is a pizza restaurant in Maidenhead that cooks its pizzas in the UK's first Manna Forni zero emission electric oven, at over 450°C in under 90 seconds. The pizzas have a thin crust, and a specials board changes regularly, with pizzas such as the Pear Necessities. Stracc & strips is on the starter list, and hot honey comes with the food. Gluten-free pizza bases are available for those who need them. A full bar pours local beer, signature cocktails and wine, and the restaurant takes walk-ins. The team also caters buffets for events and weddings, and hats sold in the restaurant raise money for a mental health charity it works alongside.

“Welcome to our neighbourhood pizzeria, where we specialise in slinging out Neapolitan style pizzas, made using locally and ethically sourced ingredients where possible. We serve up planet-friendly pizzas, unique small plates & sharers, salads and homemade desserts to our Maidenhead community. Our fully stocked bar serves local beer, signature cocktails and our favourite wines. We've got coffee from Cooper's Roastery, as well as soft drinks. We do kid-size pizzas too! In true planet-friendly style, our Neapolitan pizzas are cooked in the UK’s first Manna Forni zero emission electric oven. They're cooked at over 450°c in less than 90 seconds, meaning you get a thin base and a light, fluffy crust. We look forward to seeing you!”

Customer Review Summary
Attentive, friendly service is what diners mention most, with servers praised for remembering previous drink orders and handling food allergies with care. The pizzas draw repeated praise too, from the thin crust to the Pear Necessities special. The Stracc & strips starter, hot honey and basil drinks are singled out, along with a specials board that changes regularly. A few note competitive prices, and one couple chose the kitchen as caterer for their wedding reception buffet and heard many compliments from guests. Complaints are few but specific. One reviewer found the toppings sparse and described a long wait from being seated to being served while only a handful of tables were occupied. Another could barely taste artichokes ordered as an extra topping, which arrived as thin little bits. One reviewer preferred the traditional pizzas to the adventurous ones. One diner reports that when the kitchen ran out of gluten-free bases, the manager went out and bought one so the meal could go ahead.

“A nice chill and friendly atmosphere. Lovely staff and just round the corner from an excellent craft beer bar. Liked the traditional pizza a bit more than the adventurous ones but it was all tasty. Need to come back more often”

“The pizza is tasty but the toppings is a bit little. We rated service one star due to the waiting time, from us be seated until food was served it took 40min. This is way too slow where there were not many tables during that time, only 5 tables.”

“Our first time here and we were blown away! The food and service was incredible! Food makes a good restaurant but the staff make a great one and this place was amazing! My boyfriend bought a hat to support the mental health charity they work alongside which we thought was an amazing idea and should be done by more places! We will be back:)”

“Absolutely outstanding, as always! The food was delicious, but what really made our evening was the incredible service. Olivia was absolutely fantastic, she was so friendly and attentive, remembered our previous drink orders, and genuinely went above and beyond to make our night special. I also have food allergies, and she handled them with the care and attention they deserve, which gave me complete confidence. When the team realised they had run out of gluten-free pizza bases, the manager actually went out and bought one so I could still have the pizza I'd been looking forward to. I was so grateful, I've honestly never experienced that level of customer service anywhere else. The whole team was incredibly kind and accommodating, and it's exactly why we keep coming back. We've visited Knead many times and are always impressed, but this visit was especially memorable. Thank you all for making it such a wonderful evening!”

“Knead is a brilliant pizza restaurant. They also do local events catering though, which is what this review is for. We chose Knead to be the principal caterer for our wedding reception buffet. They were absolutely fantastic: they worked with us creating the menu, served to 120 guests in a 2h30 window, and the pizzas were delicious - we heard so many compliments for them. The communication was great, everything about their role was superbly done. I could not recommend them more highly.”
