About Jenners Riverside Cafe
Jenners Riverside Cafe is a cafe on Ray Mead Rd in Maidenhead, set on the Thames Path beside a play park and a mini golf course. Its own car park sits next to the building and is free for customers dining in. The food is basic and simple, with breakfasts that include a light breakfast and a vegetarian one. A selection of cakes is displayed inside, and ice cream is served too. Walkers and cyclists on the path stop in, as do families visiting the play park and mini golf. The cafe is open daily, daytime only.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly staff are the most common draw, described as kind, polite and quick, and several reviewers pair them with simple, basic cafe food that is well cooked. Diners name the light breakfast and the vegetarian breakfast as nice, along with a selection of cakes inside, and the outside seating suits walkers and cyclists on the Thames Path and Jubilee river. One reviewer comes with a granddaughter for the simple good food. Opinion on the food and cleanliness splits sharply. One reviewer called the sausages very poor, another received a cheese sandwich made with a single slice of bread folded in half, and a third found the place expensive and dirty everywhere. One reviewer reports seeing the cook smoking out the back. Another describes the facilities and mini golf as past their prime, and one visitor found it shut on a Saturday afternoon. Parking is a point of contention: one reviewer says dining in makes it free, while another was told ice cream did not count as eating, and the receipt logged it as food.

“The place is nice but the store is expensive and very dirty every where rabish and dirty and for parking you must to pay”

“Tin pot outfit ,paid for parking even though we spent £20 on ice cream, which apparently isn't Eating! Not sure if it's a council car park or private . They record your parking on receipt as Food and try to scare you with a penalty charge notice ,which is not right if it's a private car park. It smacks of something wrong and the food didn't look good. Won't be having my custom again”

“Who makes a sandwich with 1 slice of bread? 🤨 I dropped in with the kids and decided to get them lunch. It was a pretty sad state... the cheese sandwich was a one bread slice sandwich, folded in half. It came with crisps and a drink for £5.60. Further to this, I'm confident the woman who is cooking was out in the back, smoking a fag and picking her nose - she looked surprised I came around the corner 🤢 I'll be certain to avoid this cafe - they are just lucky they are next to the park.”

“The building is up for renovation/renewal once the current incumbent moves out (subject to appeal and with in excess of 3000 signatures) I’ve no doubt that the cuisine will change and prices rise, but the place is now run down and the facilities including the mini golf are past their prime. I don’t believe that the current owners do not have the option to rebid, I think that they were just onto a good thing financially… hopefully they will put forward a plan and bid to meet what is needed going forward.”

“It’s a must-go when we have our granddaughter with us. We all love the simple good food and excellent service.”
