About JAMAICA PATTY CO.
Jamaica Patty Co. is a Jamaican restaurant at 26 New Row in London, run as a takeaway built around patties. The fillings include curried goat, jerk chicken, and salt fish with ackee, so the range goes beyond beef. The beef patties come in spicy and medium spice versions, and vegan and vegetarian patties sit alongside the meat options. Soups, coffee, juice and imported cakes are also sold for anyone who wants something to go with a patty or instead of one. The shop is open daily, and it takes card payment only.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the beef patties, with the spicy beef singled out for a lovely little kick and more flavour than the medium spice version, which one reviewer found not hot at all. Several praise the light, flaky, well-baked pastry and generous, nicely seasoned fillings, and the salt fish with ackee, curried goat, cheesy beef and a regular beef patty each get a mention. One reviewer notes the jerk chicken is not spicy, and another says the pastries arrived piping hot. Service divides opinion. Some describe friendly owners and staff who smile at every customer, while others call the staff miserable and unhelpful, with serving customers feeling like a chore. One reviewer who visited twice describes greasy, dirty tables and floor in an empty shop, says the diners had to clean their own table, and found a vegetarian patty that was mostly empty space inside and a vegan patty that was barely warm. One reviewer notes card payment only, and the closing detail is a diner who keeps asking a partner to bring home a cheesy beef patty.

“I wish I took pics. I attended today and purchased a vegan and vegetarian patty with my friend. My vegan patty was barely warm yet delicious and my friends vegetarian patty was hot but when he bit into it it was like a lump of filling and loads of space in the patty itself so it wasn’t filled properly. I have to mention as well the service was lack lustre and this is the second time I’ve been in here. The tables were ALL dirty and greasy and I found it strange how the male and female were just stood around doing very little if anything. We had to clean down our own table. The floor was dirty too. As someone who works in hospitality- this is a no no. The environment should be cleaned and tidied as often as possible. Bear in mind there were only 3 small tables and the place was empty when we attended. Hygiene and cleanliness needs to be reviewed along with a more welcoming service where you actually look like you want to be there.”

“Jerk chicken and curried goat is halal. Pastries were freshly made so they were piping hot which was perfect. Jerk chicken is not spicy at all, great for anyone who doesn't like spice.”
