Quick info
About Hiba Express
Hiba Express is a Palestinian restaurant in London, on High Holborn at number 113, opposite Holborn tube station and next to Palestine House. Lebanese and Palestinian dishes are cooked in an open kitchen at the centre of the dining room, so the cooking sits in the middle of the space, and Palestinian decor surrounds it. The menu includes shawarma, with a lamb shawarma at lunch, and the Hiba mixed meat wrap. Knafeh is the dessert. Vegetarian and vegan options sit alongside the meat dishes, and a lunch deal is offered. The restaurant also caters for events.

Customer Review Summary
Shawarma is the dish diners name most, with one reviewer calling the lunchtime lamb shawarma the best in London and another finding it very tasty. Close behind is the staff, repeatedly described as friendly, welcoming and kind, including to a parent with a child. One reviewer who ordered catering for a work event found them flexible with last minute changes. Reviewers also single out the toum garlic sauce, the Hiba mixed meat wrap, knafeh for dessert and fresh lemonade with mint. Several call the portions generous and the prices fair for central London, and one notes plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The one caveat comes from a long-time regular, who found dinner service with a large group so-so, with a dish or two not arriving until they asked. Several reviewers end by describing a free piece of baklava, and one a pair of walnut pastries with warm tea, brought out on the house.

“Amazing Palestinian food. Authentic, fresh and tasty. It has to be the best shawarma in London. Reasonably priced, specially for central London. Lunch time lamb shawarma is only £7.50!!! Located opposite Holborn tube station. Staff are super friendly. Outside seating available. Authentic Palestinian decor throughout. Really clean and well maintained. A definite favourite.”
