Customer Review Summary
Pasta draws the most praise at this Finsbury Park Italian, from a homemade scialatielli with thin strips of beef that one diner calls full of meat and flavour to a salmon pasta and a table-wide verdict that the pasta mains were loved. Close behind are the starters and sweets: grilled provola, a treccia and calamari fried to perfection, plus antipasti, gelato and a very generous tiramisu. Reviewers also like the outdoor tables in good weather, the busy, authentic atmosphere and the generous portions. Staff are described as welcoming, patient and quick, but service draws the sharpest complaints. One diner says a waiter shouted "it's coming" across the room when asked again for the bill. Another says a server spilled a drink on a neighbouring table and left it on their own bill. One reviewer found a pizza swimming in oil, and another disliked the pistachio gelato. One reviewer reports illness after the salmon pasta and felt a free meal offered afterward was not enough. Another diner, with no booking, still got a table.

“Myself and 3 friends went to this restaurant on the 27th August 2026. I had a salmon pasta dish, 2 of my friends also had this and my other friend had Pizza. I started to feel unwell later that night, with serve vomiting and diarrhoea. I messaged my friends early the next morning and the 2 who also had the salmon dish also had the same symptoms. After ringing and discussing with a member of staff they mentioned their salmon is fresh and said there’s nothing they can do. Not very apologetic and offered us a free meal which I felt wasn’t insufficient considering the circumstances. Very poor customer service! I do not recommend this restaurant.”

“This is one of our favourite places. It's excellent especially when the weather is nice and you find a table outside. I don't remember being disappointed by food, not for once. Love the fish!”

“Last Sunday I was at Pappagone in Finsbury Park for a friend's birthday. We had a fantastic meal and a great time! We ordered different dishes, all were very good and well prepared. The servings are generous and reasonably priced. My favourite was the grilled provola, an Italian specialty served as a starter, along with the treccia and the calamari, which are fried to perfection. Although the restaurant was very busy, the staff was so welcoming and so patient with our messy orders 😄 Giampietro, who tended to our table, is a true asset. He was friendly, attentive and his service was spotless, from advising about dishes to pouring wine with uncommon elegance. Will surely go back!”

“It used to be my partners go to spot but it seems the quality of food and service has decreased drastically. Missimo(if I spelled it correctly) was are server for the Aresenal game on the Saturday vs PSG. She managed to spill a drink over some other customers but didn't remember to remove the drink from the bill. We also saw how she was being very chatty and trying to interact with the bigger group of customers , which was the birthday group. When she came to us , we greeted her with smiles and trying to be nice but felt as if she didn't care with her non-chalant attitude behaviour towards us and the table she spilt the drink on. Service was poor and unfortunately the pizza I got was swimming in oil or some type of liquid. We will not be coming back again since other people we know, that would visit this restaurant have agreed that the food quality has decreased as well. It was nice while it lasted.”

“Lived down the road from here for years and this is my first time. Such a vibe, and really, really good antipasti, pasta and gelato. Loads of variety and all 6 of us at the table loved everything we ate. Really reasonably priced, too. £52 each and we had starters, a couple of bottles of sparkling red wine, a few Aperol Spritz and beers, pasta mains and desserts. All of it was amazing. Thank you!!”
