Quick info
About Streat Latin Food
Streat Latin Food is a Mexican restaurant in London, run as a stall inside the Market Place Food Hall outside St Paul's tube station, alongside the hall's other vendors. The menu is a Venezuelan and Mexican fusion, pairing arepas and empanadas with birria tacos. Every dish is gluten free, so the whole menu works for anyone avoiding gluten. The birria tacos come with small pots of extra sauce, sour cream or consomme on the side. The food is cooked in view of customers at the station, so the kitchen work happens in front of the counter. The stall is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Tacos are the main draw, with reviewers calling the vegetarian tacos delicious and fresh, and the birria tacos succulent with plenty of juicy consomme. Opinion on the birria is split, though, as one diner found it the driest they had ever had and a sad copy of the Mexican original. Close behind are the chorizo arepa, which one reviewer urges others to try for true Latin American food, and nachos described as filling and fresher than typical UK nachos. Several reviewers describe the staff as friendly and kind, and one watched the food being cooked in front of them. Complaints center on value and atmosphere. One diner found a rice-heavy dish with about six beans and a sprinkle of meat bland and too small, and another objected to extra charges for cheese and a tiny pot of guac. The food hall is described as loud, with reserved seats and sour looks from vendors. Reviewers recall a free pot of sour cream and a little taste of a sauce handed over with the order.

“The staff were so friendly and service was great. I saw them cooking and everything was so fresh, i took my food to go and they advised to eat it soon so the tacos stayed good. The vegetarian tacos here are delicious and they were kind enough to give me a pot of sour cream which went really well with everything. The nachos were so filling and tasted so fresh compared to ‘uk nachos’”

“This is great food and great value for your money. Nice chill atmosphere. Yolanda is delightful, always giving you a smile and a little taste of a sauce, not many people are as thoughtful and nice these days, she clearly enjoys her job and understands how a smile or a little attention could lift up people.”
