Customer Review Summary

Service is the recurring complaint. Three reviewers describe coldness, including no greeting and no reply to a thank you. One order was entered wrong, so three breakfast plates arrived for two diners. Another waited 45 minutes for an omelette with two people working, then found the omelette not good, the French toast awful and the hot chocolate thick and bitter. One reviewer celebrating a birthday describes servers patiently repeating the names of the cheeses.

“If you fancy a little break from the hustle and bustle of the day, or want to start your morning with a good cup of coffee and a croissant, then you’ve come to the right place. Authentic French charm and very friendly service await you. Brilliant! 👍”

“So French is one of those gems in London where you go for the first time for how cute it is and you come back because how the place made you feel. Run by Cedric and Tiago, is honesly like coming back home. Amazing pastries, and food. My go to place in London”

“A very quaint and expensive but good quality French cafe. Enjoyed a quick lunch here. Tarte citron was particularly good.”

“The place is nice but the experience we had with the people serving was awful. No greeting, we were met with disdain and coldness. The place was not crowded and when we ordered, we discussed what we wanted to have. The person at the till didn't recap what we ordered and it ended up wrong. Three breakfast plates arrived for 2. When we showed our surprise, the person didn't have a nice word, just "those two plates are different". We asked if they had wifi and turned his back while saying "No!". The music better for a high-street fashion shop than for a place to get breakfast. We will definitely not go back there and will favor other places in the area.”

“I had a mixed experience at this café. One member of staff came across as quite rude — there was no response when we said thank you, and both their facial expressions and body language felt unwelcoming. It made us wonder whether this is how other customers are treated as well. Customer service is an important part of the experience, and a polite, courteous attitude goes a long way. On a more positive note, another server was very kind and attentive, with friendly gestures and a warm “thank you” as we left, which we really appreciated. The coffee itself was fairly standard, but the croissant was excellent — fresh and very enjoyable. Overall, while the food had its highlights, the inconsistency in service affected the visit.”
