About Vintage Hair & Beauty Salon

On Edgware Road, Vintage Hair & Beauty Salon operates as a barber shop with separate women's and men's sections under one roof. The women's side covers haircuts, blow dry, trims, layers, highlights and balayage or toner work, while the barber section handles the standard men's cuts. The salon runs on a walk-in basis, so no appointment is needed, though waits can build up when bookings and customer volume overlap. Staff offer at-home product recommendations and hair care advice alongside the services performed in the chair. It opens daily, giving flexibility for anyone passing along Edgware Road in Central London who needs a cut without planning ahead.

Customer Review Summary

Most reviewers return for haircuts from one hairdresser, whom several single out as friendly and professional, and some say they will keep requesting her. Layered trims with a blow dry draw praise, as do highlights for parties and weddings and a balayage toner refresh in brown and reddish hues. Reviewers call the prices reasonable for central London, and one says the wait is good even with a full booking schedule. One reviewer describes a stylist who spoke little English but understood the requested cut right away and finished with hair perfume. The one sharply negative account concerns the women's side. That reviewer says a face frame took two thick front sections that looked ridiculous, the wash felt like shampoo being patted on, and straightening began without any mention that it would raise the cost. They add that the blow dry was then rushed by two stylists. A separate reviewer calls a barber visit one of the nicest they have had. Several close on the same detail: honest advice on looking after hair and products to use at home.

“Just got a haircut here and the service was great. One of the nicest barbers I have met. The haircut turned out amazing and I will definitely be coming back!”

“Today I went for wash, blow dry, trim and face frame. This was honestly the worst salon I have ever went to in my life please do not come here if you don’t want to ruin your hair. I asked for face frame she took two think front pieces of my hair and just cut it and it looks ridiculous. As she was showing my hair she didn’t even wash it properly it felt like she was just patting shampoo onto my hair. And I asked for blow dry she started doing it then after one piece she said I will straighten it for you not talking about the increase of prices and started straightening until one of them said that this will increase the price we immediately told her to stop and we never asked for this then when she carried on blow drying she started rushing and seemed angry with the other girl who came and started blow drying my hair too and those two started rushing not blow drying my hair properly and I still paid £45 which is absolutely ridiculous. (This report does not involve the men’s section only the women’s)”

“An amazing experience from beginning to end with Isha and Brinda. I was looking for a refresh on my balyage toner with brown and reddish hues, a delicate balance which is often difficult to achieve. Huge thank you to the ladies for making this happen and making the whole experience enjoyable - I would highly recommend!”

“Definitely going back to Vintage hair salon. I was so happy with my hair cut done by Samar. She showed excellent customer services, very friendly and professional. She gave me advice on how to look after my hair. The atmosphere was very positive and will be requesting for Samar from now onwards.”

“Went to get a hair trim with layers late in the evening and was very warmly greeted by the team working there. My hairdresser was a very nice lady who spoke little English, but the language didn't really matter. With few words she asked me (and I also explained) how I would like my hair to be cut, how short and that I wanted it layered this time around. She immediately understood and started cutting, and I could tell she had a lot of experience and was very skilled. The haircut took about 20 minutes plus blow dry. The hairdresser even added some nice hair perfume at the end. All in all I'm very delighted with how the haircut turned out, my hair hasn't looked this good in over two years. Absolutely awesome work! Would definitely recommend for all ladies in the area. To the hairdresser who cut my hair, thank you very much, you did a great job! I can tell you're very professional and I would love to come back.”
