Georges Barber Room
Quick info
About Georges Barber Room
Georges Barber Room is a barber shop on Kentish Town Road, serving Kentish Town and drawing customers from across the wider Camden area. The work centres on traditional men's cuts, and regulars bring their sons along for haircuts too. Several barbers work the chairs, so a return visit may put you with a different member of the team. Walk-ins are taken, and you can also book a day or so ahead, which helps if you would rather not queue, since arriving at a busy stretch can mean a long wait and there are usually customers in the shop. The chairs run Monday to Saturday, with the shop closed on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
The cut itself is what brings people back, described repeatedly as sharp, detailed and consistently good across all four chairs, with several noting the barbers take their time and no one feels handed off to a trainee. Close behind is the welcome, regulars describe friendly chat if wanted and being greeted as though known for years. Named touches recur: shaves, a post cut rinse offered on request to get the hair off before heading out, a sharp fade, and one customer recalls the owner assembling a Trumpers gift box for his son's birthday. Others mention the shabby chic decor, the piano, and an albino ferret out the back that entertains children. Several suggest booking a day ahead since walk ins can mean a long wait at the wrong moment. One long time customer was unhappy with a recent visit, saying the barber spent more time sorting out a parking ticket than cutting, and objecting to cash only payment.

“Georges Barber Room is a small yet classy family run business in the heart of lovely Kentish Town…Head barber Micky Scissors has been keeping me dashingly handsome for many years now ….always punctual and friendly…. his haircuts are thorough, professional and always absolutely sharp, smart and stylish….comparing George’s Barber Room to other barbers in the area, always value for money and best to book a day or so in advance although walk ins are possible ….plus they have an albino ferret for the kids out the back and a piano if anyone fancies tickling the ivories.”

“Have been going here for years but the last haircut was a joke. The guy spent more time trying to sort his parking ticket out than cutting my hair. And I think it’s a bit dodgy only accepting cash… think he needs to sort it out as loads of better barbers in Kentish Town who I’d rather get my hair cut by.”

“The best barber experience in my lifetime as a whole. Extreme hygene measures took place throughout. Haircut was detailed to perfection, carefully and smoothly. I was delighted with the end result. Happy to have my barber of trust in London.”
