Customer Review Summary
Pad Gra-Prao is the dish reviewers return to most, praised for strong heat, real holy basil and comfort, with one diner noting that most UK Thai restaurants avoid that level of spice. Tom Yum noodles come close behind, described as a rich soup with minced pork and huge crispy wontons. Chicken satay, spare ribs, pad see ew with pork, a Yum Wun Sen chicken salad and coconut rice also earn praise, along with generous portions, fresh flavours and the happy hour and lunch deals. Staff are called friendly, but service is split: some report quick food, while others call it relaxed or poor, and one notes a long wait when the place was packed. One reviewer says weekend reservations are needed to avoid waiting. Two describe the room as tired, old and dusty or in need of refurbishment, though another found the whole place clean. One diner found it not very vegetarian friendly, with no tofu options and meat-free noodles and rice simply served without meat. One reviewer regretted not ordering the ribs that every other table seemed to be getting.

“The pad ga prao (pork) was so flavorful and the heat was strong and absolutely perfect which I feel most uk Thai restaurants prefer to avoid. The spare ribs were so savory and tender and the tom yum was very nice too. Highly recommend the food very straightforward lovely Thai food.”

“Overall good Thai restaurant with nice prices and good quality food. The restaurant itself is tired, old, and dusty… and service is poor (but fine because of no built-in service fee).”

“Hands down one of the best Tom Yum noodle spots! Having visited 5–6 times now, I can confidently say the quality and taste are consistently amazing. The soup is rich, flavorful, and packed with authentic Thai spices, paired with a generous portion of minced pork and huge crispy wontons that absorb the soup so well. Clean place, fast service, and never disappoints—a must-try for any Tom Yum lover!"”

“Really good food, the kind that reminds home made food. Very flavoured and with healthy look. I definitely recommend. Attention, when they say on the menu that is spicy, please believe, is really spicey, which i love it.”

“Had an amazing dining experience at Thai a Roy Dee in Leeds! We visited during their happy hours and were genuinely impressed by both the variety and value on offer. The menu has something for everyone, and every dish we tried was packed with authentic Thai flavours. The chicken satay were perfectly grilled and full of flavour, while the chicken spring rolls were crispy, fresh, and delicious. The Pad Thai rice noodles were cooked to perfection with a great balance of sweet, savoury, and tangy flavours. The chicken green Thai curry was rich, aromatic, and paired wonderfully with the fragrant jasmine rice. Even the tofu dishes were beautifully prepared and seasoned, making them enjoyable for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. To top it all off, the mango sticky rice was the perfect dessert – fresh, sweet, and incredibly satisfying. What stood out most was the consistency in both quality and quantity. Every dish arrived well-presented, generously portioned, and tasted freshly made. The overall food quality easily matched our expectations, and the portions left us completely satisfied without feeling overdone. It's clear why this place is so highly regarded for authentic Thai cuisine and value for money. If you're looking for authentic Thai food in Leeds with excellent menu variety, generous portions, great flavours, and fantastic value during happy hours, Thai A Roy Dee is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended, and we'll certainly be returning to explore even more of their menu!”
