Quick info
About Pizza Pilgrims Leeds
Pizza Pilgrims Leeds is a pizza restaurant at 16 Boar Ln in Leeds, started by founders who drove 4,500km from Naples to learn Neapolitan pizza. That journey carries into the kitchen, where the dough is slow-proved for 24 hours and baked at 500°C. Pizza leads the menu, with toppings that stray from the classics, including Double Pepperoni & Hot Honey. Starters and sides come with sauces, and a fried artichoke sits among them. The dessert list includes a pizza donut. To drink, the restaurant serves Italian sodas such as Chinotto and Cedrata, plus coffee. Waiters take guests through the menu and answer questions about the food, which helps first-time visitors choose. The restaurant takes both reservations and walk-ins, and it is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the pizza itself, with the pepperoni and honey pizza, the 8 cheese, and an Amalfi Coast with burrata named as favourites, and several credit the authentic, fresh ingredients, one pointing to the simple tomatoes. Close behind is the staff, described as friendly, helpful and accommodating, with one server answering menu questions and another bringing a free shot and dessert for a birthday. Sides and extras also draw praise, including the fried artichoke, the pizza donut for dessert, and Italian drinks like Chinotto and Cedrata. One reviewer says the dining room looks like the streets of Napoli. The main caveat is cost: one diner calls the meal a bit expensive, with pricey drinks and a service fee of about 12%, and notes a long wait for the bill. Another reviewer would like pasta and more sides on the menu. Several say they plan to return, and one business traveller intends to come back regularly after a server steered them toward a dish they might prefer over a pricier one.

“We had dinner here with a group of friends and I confirm what I have read in previous reviews: wonderful. The place is very particular and very welcoming. The staff is very kind and available to accommodate every need that a group of people may have. The pizza is really good, and accompanied by a good selection of appetizers and sauces that satisfy everyone. A special thank you goes to Ruben and Giuseppe who helped make our dinner wonderful with their pizzas. Definitely the best pizza chefs in Leeds. Also recommended are Italian drinks such as Chinotto and Cedrata which we can't find anywhere in Leeds. Best pizza place in Leeds.”

“What an experience for my 30th birthday. Caitlin & Kez really looked after me and my partner and brought us a free shot and free desert for my birthday. Pizza was absolutely unreal but that’s what we’ve come to expect with pizza pilgrims. 11/10.”

“The best Italian pizza in Leeds. A bit expensive especially they charge I think 12% service fee, drinks are expensive as well, you need to wait a lot for getting the bill…”

“Most fantastic pizza experience I’ve ever had. Thank you very much to Callum and Chef Sam for being friendly and accommodating. The options that this restaurant offers like the pepperoni, honey pizza and the 8 cheese were soooo delicious and it’s my first time seeing a pizza place encapsulate such diverse flavours in one pizza and make them flourish together. Big up Chef Sam once again for the beautiful food❤️🥹✨✨”

“Step through our doors on Boar Lane and you're in Naples. Pizza Pilgrims is the pizza place in Leeds city centre that started as a pilgrimage, founders Thom and James drove 4,500km from Naples to master the art of Neapolitan pizza, and every slice at our Leeds pizza restaurant tells that story. Our dough is slow-proved for 24 hours, baked at 500°C, giving that light, charred, pillowy crust. Try the Margherita Extra-Extra, Double Pepperoni & Hot Honey, or the Carbonara Pizza. Vegan, halal, and gluten-free options available. Open 7 days, reservations and walk-ins always welcome.”
