Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the main draw at this garden centre cafe, with reviewers praising a vegetarian breakfast, a Scottish breakfast with thick slabs of bacon and a thick slice of toast, and eggs royale poached perfectly. Close behind are the toasties, including a Chicken and Banana Toastie and a tasty Mexican chicken toastie of good size, along with sticky toffee pudding, carrot cake and a mocha with cream. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, welcoming and attentive, and one regular says the chef willingly accommodates dietary requirements. One diner enjoyed the sunny, warm conservatory. A few reservations appear. One reviewer warns it can be very lively for anyone wanting a quiet, serious conversation, and another found the millionaire's slice too soft. The sharpest complaint concerns service, where a customer who ordered a dairy free cake with coffee asked three times before it finally arrived, and it came with a helping of butter.

“Good food until my sister stepped in shit, which was under the table. Dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant, not really sure how shit managed to be there. Also staff were made aware and just left us to clean up the floor underneath the table, which was disappointing.”

“I'd heard great things about this place. The person that took us to our table wasn't friendly and condescending. Ordered coffee and cake coffee came however no cake..asked x3 where the dairyfree cake was. It eventually came after my friend having to motion to waitresses to bring cake over, when it did come it came with a helping of butter! I definitely will not be back”

“Quite simply, it's the waiting on staff which makes Le Jardin Cafe a pleasure to eat at. The food was good but in a busy establishment like this, the staff we pleasant, polite, knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you so much for fitting us in.”

“We live locally so had never had coffee or eaten at Le Jardin. Visitors arrived today so we gave it a try and were mightily impressed. Excellent food, Very friendly and efficient staff. Will go again. Word of warning, it can be very lively so if it’s you wish a serious conversation in quiet. Maybe not for you. Hence 4 stars for atmosphere.”

“Stopped in here mid afternoon. Nicely decorated cafe/restaurant in a garden centre. The Mexican chicken toastie was really tasty and a good size. Millionares slice was too soft, for me anyway. Tastied good though. Liked the fact that I was asked if I wanted it warmed....”
