About Trading Post
Trading Post on Bignal Court in Kettering operates as a pub and gastropub with a beer garden out front. The kitchen runs a carvery alongside an Indian Feast option of wings, lamb kebabs, chicken and pakoras, with the food arriving in tin dishes. Tables can be booked in advance for planned visits, and a queue at the bar is common during busier stretches. A carvery and a separate Indian Feast sit on the same menu, giving groups two formats to choose from in one sitting. The pub side of the room keeps a standard drinks line, and the outdoor benches extend seating into the garden when the weather allows.

“Went for dinner on the 31st of August the place was filthy we got sat next to a table of over 20 people kids running around we did get moved. The food really expensive and horrible. No check backs nothing dirty menus. When paying there's prices you expect the place to at least be clean never coming here again.”

“we are in the trading post at the moment, and we booked a table, first they seated us 3 adults next to a very very large table of very noisy people with loud kids, we asked to be moved. which they did without hesitation, then we ordered our food, it came out in tin dishes, and not alot of it for the price, i had hunters chicken which is supposed to be smothered in cheese and bbq sauce, it was like a bit of leather with a sprinkling of bbq sauce, it was awful, none of our meals were worth what we paid, and IF we had been asked during our meal by waiting staff if our food was ok. we would have told them how awful it really was, wont be going there again, what a waste of money. My son who was with us eating was a chef at Barton Hall in kettering, and basically said, they could never get away with this service, and the food should have been binned. so learn a lesson trading post, you never know who is in your establishment.”

“It was awful to put it bluntly. I work in hospitality (yes I’m going to be that person) and if I was the General Manager of there I’d be embarrassed! Firstly, 40% offer - not running those offers over a Bank Holiday is old hat - with cost of living and so many other options, there is no place for that anymore . It wasn’t busy, to the effect of one staff member behind the bar with a queue whilst the other two were chatting and then one on her phone ! So maybe had you had the offer in use they’d actually have work to do. Onto food - we were going to have carvery , but once I had a look at it , lack of vegetable choice and how dry it looked I decided to go with the Indian Feast. When it was brought out to me I thought it was a joke - I’ve just paid £25 for a couple of normal wings with a blob of curry sauce on, 2 lamb kebabs that were pale, a couple of pieces of chicken that had just looked at spice, and then the pakoras - well I’ve never seen pakoras like that . I bit into one and I’ve never had chicken so dry in my life! Awful! Now i would have complained, but no one bothered to check back on us after we got our food and I’m certainly not walking to the bar to complain with my plate of food . Our bill came to over £85 for three people with soft drinks which is ridiculous for what we received and even this morning I’m still fuming that I paid that amount of money for less than basic food and zero customer service . Won’t be recommending and won’t be back.”

“The carvery is really good. It's best to come early to beat the rush though. The beer selection is excellent.”
