Customer Review Summary
Lamb draws the most praise, from the lamb bhuna with large chunks of tender meat to the lamb chops and a lamb biryani so big two diners took leftovers home. Close behind are the generous portions, which reviewers call fair for what arrives, and the sides: mushroom rice, coriander garlic naan, masala chips and black pepper popadoms. Others single out homemade chapati and dal, a wide range of gluten free and vegetarian options, and a signature dish called Captain Patia. The owner and staff are described as friendly, polite and accommodating. Criticism is minor. One reviewer found the chicken shashlik bone dry, though it arrived with a separate curry sauce, and another called the atmosphere ok. One suggests booking, especially at weekends in season. Several return to the same detail: plates finished with nothing left, and one diner's daughter saying the meal beat her usual.

“Completed Ben Nevis and I thought I would treat myself to a grand meal at Sultan of Keswick. The food was 11/10. The food was made to perfection and the service was excellent. I can't wait to be back here when I complete Scafell Pike next!”

“We stopped by for dinner when visiting Keswick. My husband is a former Peace Corp volunteer and we have eaten Indian food for years, in many cities. This Bangladeshi restaurant was a wonderful surprise. The food was fresh and the recipes were complex, well-prepared and delicious. The service was excellent.”

“First time here and couldn't fault the food or service. The Lamb bhuna had large chunks of tender fat free meat, mushroom rice was spot on, coriander garlic nan tasted as good as it looked, chicken shashlik was served bone dry but came with a seperate curry sauce biriani style and the masala chips were good. All in all very tasty and generous portions, prices ok as well. The Cobra came in at £5.40 not bad at all. Will visit again.”
