About The Crafty Baa Keswick

The Crafty Baa Keswick is a bar at 13 Bank St in Keswick, with live music four nights a week and an open mic night that gives local performers a stage. The drinks list centres on craft beer, served in bottle and on draught, and includes a House Pale Ale. A small selection of cocktails sits alongside it. On the food side, the kitchen puts out sharing plates, bar bites and mains, so a table can order a few dishes to pass around. Dogs are welcome inside, which suits anyone stopping in for a drink with a pet.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return for the beer above all, from craft bottles and draught to a house Pale Ale, with a huge selection that several praise and a small cocktail list alongside it. Close behind is the live music, with Wednesday to Saturday nights described as busy and buzzing, plus an open mike night on Thursday and karaoke. One reviewer enjoyed a comedic host who engaged with customers and left them feeling they had a proper night out. The quirky, interesting decor and friendly staff come up repeatedly, and one reviewer places the bar opposite Wetherspoons yet offering something completely different. The one trade-off is volume: a reviewer who prefers a few quiet pints and a chat goes on Sundays, when it is calmer, because the live music is not what they want on other nights. Several describe coming back on consecutive evenings, with one returning on Saturday with friends after a Friday visit.

“Fab little bar in Keswick with a great selection of beer, very friendly staff and quirky decoration inside!”

“Always love it here! I'm a big fan of their house Pale Ale (6.1%, so not too many!). We do tend to go when it's a little quieter (Sundays are lovely), as I don't really want somewhere with live music when I'm after a few quiet pints and a chat. Great, interesting decor inside and very friendly staff makes this such a pleasant place for a couple of hours.”

“Great little bar, soo much drink choice and there was live music/karaoke so a great atmosphere. Would return!”
  • Mikeytikey
“This is a good example of why independent bars are so important. It sits opposite Wetherspoons but offers a completely different experience, from craft bottle and draught beers to great live music, it's really making an effort. Compered by a comedic, what I assume to be, owner, who engaged brilliantly with the customers - I've come away feeling like I've been entertained and had a night out. Highly recommended, come here if you're in Keswick.”
