Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the fish, described as crispy and moist under a light, crisp batter, with one reviewer noting never finding a bone. Close behind are the chips, called perfect, homemade, and light and fluffy inside, and the chip shop curry sauce, which one reviewer rates the best they have had. Scraps, gravy, cheesy chips and a battered sausage also earn mentions, and reviewers describe the prices as reasonable and the staff as friendly. One says the owner joked along when his partner asked for paper instead of a box. The criticism is specific. One reviewer found the chips dry with no grease and the fish and batter bland, and says the owner reacted badly when asked for browner chips. Another says the chips were like cardboard on a recent visit, after the shop used to be the best in Kendal. A third finds the fish a bit small. Several note a queue whenever they visit.

“What's happened? Used to be the best chippie in Kendal, today's chips are like cardboard, simply awful. Such a shame”

“Always great fish and chips. Fish could do with being a bit bigger but always well cooked and tasty.”

“Best chippy by far. Even my partner who is fussy and lives in the dark ages said they are the best fish and chips he’s had in a long time. He didn’t want them in a box just paper like you did years ago. The owner was very accommodating and we even had a laugh and a joke about it. Good service and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend and go again when we visit Kendal again.”
