About Cortillo Lounge
Cortillo Lounge is a restaurant in Kendal, on Stricklandgate, spread over two floors and marked by a pink-purple sign outside. Breakfast and brunch are served, including a Korean Seoul breakfast. The drinks list adds boba tea and coconut matcha. Vegetarian and gluten-free options appear on the menu, and a separate gluten-free and vegan menu is also available. “Cortillo Lounge in Kendal is a pretty cool lounge in the centre of the town. I like the exterior, which has the pink-purple sign; it’s noticeable and inviting, with the usual Loungers vibes once you enter, over the two floors. I visited here quite late in the evening, just over an hour before they closed; despite this, the staff were friendly and delivered the best possible service, and they didn’t make me feel bad for coming in towards the end of the day. I ordered an Iced Salted Caramel Latte; it looked great and tasted pretty good! It was overflowing with the cold foam, so it did become pretty messy and sticky to touch the glass, but it was good overall. I felt comfortable at the table by the window, which is pretty good for people-watching with a coffee! I also appreciated the help from the staff with my Lounge Passport. I visited this Lounge shortly after hitting my 50th passport stamp. While they were unable to provide the QR code, they helped provide the contact details to get in the right team who could issue my prize. A welcoming Lounge with friendly staff, in a good location, and this is somewhere I’d return if I find myself in Kendal in the future.”

“Food was really nice and good value, unfortunately the servers were a bunch of clueless kids who had no idea what they were doing. Watched my food going cold on the pass as the chef asked numerous servers to just pass it to the table behind( me). I also watched other people's food sat while serving staff ran around like headless chickens. Other customers walked up to the pass to ask if they could take there food. All the tables were dirty there looked to be enough serving staff working but they could not multi task.”

“Unfortunately the staff wasn't welcoming and there were times when I couldn't decide if they were annoyed with us or just didn't have the mood to be nice. The food, was okay (crazy amount of big chunks of red onions in the flatbread with halloumi.....) randomly chose this place as being tourists here, probably I wouldn't recommend to friends/family.”

“The café has a very nice interior with a cozy atmosphere, and the prices are reasonable. The only downside was the ordering process, as you have to order through a QR code, which felt less personal and a bit inconvenient. Overall, a good place to visit.”
