Quick info
About Lynn’s cafe
Lynn's cafe is a traditional cafe in Huddersfield town centre, at 9-13 Market Walk, off the main street, and it opens daily. The kitchen cooks full English breakfasts, with vegetarian and slimming versions and a small breakfast for a lighter start. Sandwiches and rolls make up the rest of the menu, including a ham and cheese salad roll and cold meat sandwiches. Pork pie with mushy peas is also on the menu. Sunday lunches are served each week, and daily specials change what is on offer from one day to the next.

Customer Review Summary
Traditional breakfasts draw the most praise, including the vegetarian version. Reviewers call them spot on, and one says the small breakfast was nice and not greasy. Close behind are the old school sandwiches, with one diner enjoying a fresh ham and cheese salad roll and another calling it the only town centre place for a proper one. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, and several mention reasonable prices, good portions and freshly cooked food in a quiet, cosy room with good music. One former regular disagrees, reporting burnt and over microwaved food, a pork pie and mushy peas heated together until the pie base was so hard it needed a jackhammer, and a cold meat sandwich with very little meat. Another reviewer describes a big group of work colleagues on new year's eve morning being seated right away, with the food arriving in good time.

“Such a hidden gem! There were two of us and we both got breakfasts, and we were really happy with everything. The food was absolutely lovely and so reasonably priced. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and it’s such a quiet, cosy place with good music and a really nice atmosphere. Definitely somewhere I’ll be coming back to!”

“Ive had to stop going, the food is going downhill from burnt food to over microwaved food. When getting pork pie and mushy peas you dont expect to need a jack hammer to get through the base of the pie, this is because its been microwaved with the mushy peas to within an inch of setting lit. Get a cold meat sandwich I could get a tupperware tub and take 90% of meat out and use it for my sandwiches for week. I do hope yhe lad who cooks can at some point go on a catering course to improve his cooking.”
