  “I had an excellent experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a stylish yet welcoming atmosphere, with a beautifully designed interior that makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The service was one of the highlights of the evening. The staff were friendly, attentive and happy to make recommendations throughout the meal. Thank you Nic!!! Every dish was beautifully presented and cooked perfectly, with high-quality ingredients that really stood out. The wine selection complements the menu exceptionally well, and the dessert was the perfect way to round off the experience. I would definitely recommend Carne to anyone who appreciates great steak, outstanding service and a fantastic dining atmosphere in Hove. I'll certainly be returning.”

  “The food was amazing, me and my boyfriend came for our 4 year anniversary and we were looked after so well by Nick who was funny and attentive !! We ordered the porterhouse steak which was cooked perfectly and so many cocktails which were the best cocktails we have ever had. 10/10”

  “Such a great lunch, no pressure to finish quickly and our waiter Nick was outstanding his knowledge of the drinks and the epic cocktails he created were amazing. We had the prawns to start which we both could of eaten ten times over, the steak was cooked to perfection and the sides matched , as for pudding well, Nick recommended the strawberry cheesecake so we didn’t even look at the menu it was outstanding! Highly recommend the full carne experience.”

  “Had a fantastic meal. The miso cabbage was an absolute standout and the beef tartare was excellent. A special mention to Nick, who looked after us all evening. He was an absolute star! He also recommended a fantastic sparkling that I would come back for on its own. Great food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.”

  “The food was excellent, one of the best tartars I’ve had, as well as the cheesecake as it was very flavourful very creamy which I loved. The macarons were passionfruit and pistachio flavour and they were one of the best ones I’ve tried. The steak was cooked to perfection and was very good alongside the roast garlic butter sauce, the Parmesan beef dripping fries were very soft and fluffy yet also crispy. Ultimately we got a Spanish wine which was one of the best ones I’ve tried. Overall the experience was lovely as the restaurant has very nice low lighting which makes it feel very cozy and the food was amazing however it is a bit pricey”

  “Me and my partner came for a late lunch. I always recommend, we’ve tried their Sunday roast and it was incredible but this time we came for the lunch menu and it was fantastic. Nick came over to our table. The barista. Who made the best Bloody Mary’s for my partner, which he really enjoyed. And even offered to make him a special kind of Bloody Mary which really hit the spot. Hopefully the special edition will be added to the menu full time :) Vincenzo was our waiter and he paid attention to detail. Thank you both for an amazing lunch and beautiful service. We will be back x”

  “This is the place for food but not service. I think we waited 40-ish minutes for mains without a heads up of a party going on within the venue. Like I said, this is the place for FOOOOOD, amazing quality but the service wasn’t great - if we were given the heads up then there would have been anticipation for a delay in service but unfortunately there wasn’t any, and no complementary bread (or anything). I’ll just reiterate, the food was amazing but the service wasn’t great.”

  “The menu is incredible it was so hard to pick what to get! Really impressed with the service by Jess, Vincenzo and Nik. Nik and Jess were our main servers and made us feel really welcome and well looked after. Food was amazing, steak was lovely as were the bone marrow dishes. Definitely will be coming back!!”

  “Really nice place, staff is great and attentive, atmosphere is great, polished but cozy. A bit of the wait for mains but it was 100% worth it! Ox doughnuts starter, ribeye, octopus, and mac - all was brilliant. Definitely coming back.”

  “We just finished a wonderful Sunday brunch. I had the sirloin and my wife had the chicken. Both were delicious and plentiful. The gravy was terrific and we got extra as we had run out. We also had a cheesy cauliflower side which was very good. We’ll definitely be back. Dog friendly!”
